Battlefield 4 - 3 Factions, Commander Mode Returns

Somebody spotted the above pre-order advertisement for Battlefield 4 at Gamestop. It shows that the game will have three factions, in addition to Commander Mode - a feature that has been absent from the series since Battlefield 2142.

Fuck that this should have been a sequel to 2142 instead we get more of the same. BF3 was underwhelming overall after the shine wore off so I might just skip this.

I dont trust EA and DICE not to fuck it up. Look at how crap the mangled commrose was in BF3 which apparently was incorporated to please BF vets. I am expecting another half arsed effort with even greater focus on microtransactions and $DLC.

I'm sure we'll have to pay an added fee or subscription for Commander Mode... it is EA we're talking about

Right... because they really roasted your balls for BF3 with all of those hidden fees to play game modes.

Day 1 purchase. Always loved the Battlefield games, and BF3 was a lot of fun as well. Can't wait for this one.

You rolls your eyes, but the hilarious thing is that additional games modes, i.e. ctf, gunmaster, tank superiority and scavenger were only accessible if you paid for premium or the individual $DLC

Does this mean artillery? Is it going to be in just one game mode?

I welcome the return of Commander. I have been frustrated in BF3 because people just run around doing random stuff. Having the commander role will hopefully help people work together a bit better. Obviously a lot of players will still ignore the Commander and target their own objectives.

Even in BF2 I never found people to form enough squads and actually work with the commander.

Yup. This is EA we're talking about. And the majority of gamers are to blame for the current predicament. The majority will continue to vote with their wallets and dig us into a bigger hole.

Seriously, I still don't understand the point in buying this game. I love the series and all but why would we purchase this if the new systems are going to be out this fall?

It's also going to be on PC. Also still probably the best on PC.

Why would anyone purchase a battlefield game not on PC is what boggles my mind. 24 person limit for conquest? What is this, 1999?

(The original battlefield 1942 had 64 person maps back in 2002!)

Still not buying it. Orgin sucks, maybe if it was good as Steam and had sales like Steam then maybe I would give a fuck.

Yes, Origin sucks nards. But what REALLY gets me by it being an Origin exclusive is missing Steamworks integration. To me that's the best way to play with friends on PC.

Will the insane death choppers be returning? I remember sitting in one of those at a complete stop while my buddy shot guided missiles at everything. We absolutely dominated any public match until we got bored with it. The other team could never get in the air because I'd hover close enough to the spawn points to alert my teammate that they were up and I'd spray them with machine-guns if he was busy nuking a sniper across the map. Plus, ground troops were too busy scurrying to fire at the mostly immobile helicopter hovering over the water.

The air vehicles were too difficult to pilot but they lost and won matches. Bombing strikes were "meh" compared to them.

It took years lol, but i got good at flying. Id fly under bridges upside down and could park a chopper inside the bottom of the aircraft carrier on oman like nothing. The main reason i got good was all the hours of sandbox mod i put in.
