Weekend Gamer: What are you playing?

The lull before the storm of the holiday season. And a 3 day weekend to boot. Thank you to all the vets out there for your service. What are you playing this weekend?

Another weekend dedicated to Red Dead 2 - simply phenomenal game and experience I just can't get enough of.

Have a funeral this weekend, but aside from that I'll be playing:

Dark Souls 3 (PC) - I haven't been this into a Souls game since Demon's, this is so good. Playing DS1 Remastered on Switch got me back into it.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey (PC) - took a break when RDR2 came out, but I'm ready to get back to it.

I'm sure I'll dabble in other stuff, but those are my mains. Maybe ill try some RDR2 again.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is pretty much the only thing I plan on doing this weekend. Just got to Chapter 6, and don't know if I should concentrate on just doing story missions (which often unlock new abilities) and then go back and do everything else, or continue t play it the way I have been and just enjoy the slow drip of content. Likely the later, as I absolutely hate seeing unfinished objectives prior to moving onto a potentially game changing story mission.

RDR2. Still only in chapter 3 due to how sidetracked I get in the game. This is such an amazing experience. Online should be ridiculous.

RDR2 for me too. Such a pretty game, although at times the controls are a bit frustrating. Possibly a little Dead Cells as well, for when I want something a little more fluid.

Lunch and a movie with the wife and three of the kids while two of them camp and another visits a college. Damn proud of my eldest; full ride to a four year Honors program in chemical engineering.

Game of life baby. Best damn game!

Heading to lunch with a buddy, then Overlord at the movies and then back home for Heroes of the Storm. I’ll probably play Red Dead Redemption 2 later in the evening, but I’m back on Heroes for a little while. I was trying to raise the $12k for the Wonder William mount, but I doubt I’ll have the money before they switch the gold-only mount to something different.

It is a shame, because I just bought Samuro for like $7k and if I hadn’t done that I would have had the cash for Wonder William. Oh well, more heroes means more levels and more levels means more chests to open.

Jumping between Ashes 2063, Witcher 3, and Full Throttle Remastered. The last one looks and plays especially great on a big screen through Steamlink. In the 90s I never would have guessed a point and click advernture game such as Full Throttle would translate so well to this format and make no sacrifices. If you have the means I highly recommend it. An excellent remaster.

I just watched Outlaw King and it's probably the first really good Netflix exclusive movie. It takes place in the immediate aftermath of William Wallace's execution and following Robert the Bruce's rise to King of Scotland. Very bloody and epic battles reminiscent of Braveheart. Great authentic feeling sets and characters. Amazing camerawork. Everything is just so grimy. Chris Pine is good, but don't go into it expecting another Mel Gibson at the height of his career. I was satisfied and made up for the mind numbing bore that was Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom I watched last night.
