Depth: Sharks vs Divers FPS

I was doubly surprised when I found this, one for such an awesome game idea, and the other is why hasn't this been made yet? Regardless, the game looks fun and hopefully it will come at a reasonable price. I can't see why this wouldn't be popular unless you have dark waters and shark phobias.

Depth is an insane-looking indie game being created with the Unreal development kit. It's being described as an "aquatic stealth game." You choose to play as either a diver, searching the depths of the ocean for treasure, or a TERRIFYING DAMNED SHARK looking to rip limbs off of anything that moves.

One of the sharks should have been named "Bruce". That would have been amusing.

There aren't many shark games, but several years ago there was a budget-priced shark title where you played a diver who had to go on various diving expeditions and would encounter sharks in sunken ships and temples. The last level had a "Megatooth" way down in the depths, and I almost had a heart attack when the thing lurched out of the blackness right in front of my face.

It was a single-player only game, but fairly fun.

This game would probably make me shit bricks when these sharks come after you at such speeds and try to gnaw your arm off. Especially in dark, murky waters. Reminds me a bit of EQ back in the day where if you fell off the boat and look down, all you'd see is black and then BAM! Loch ness gobbles you up and gl getting back to your body.

meh Been waiting on news for this, haven't heard anything new from them for awhile. Got my hopes up to find news from a year ago.

I have always been terrified of underwater areas in games. I remember the first level of the original Deus Ex game & I freaking hated going underwater to break open those boxes. Granted, nothing down there attacked me... But it didn't have to. I was truly frightened.

Sounds really interesting.

RE: Everquest, what was wrong with you? Rule 1 was: put thy shit into the bank when travelling cross the water! To many zoning bugs to feel comfortable going fully clothed... at least until I started charm-soloing the giants in OOT.
