Fighting Games

Used to play Tekken 1 and 2 a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. I have been thinking of picking a fighting game for the PC during the steam sale. So what are your thoughts? Which one should I get?
  • Tekken 7
  • Marvel vs Capcon
  • Injustice 2
Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Tekken 7, definitely. Refinement of the formula that they've always used and added a lot of customization if that's your thing.

Injustice 1 was great for me. MK feel with DC characters, hard to go wrong with that. Looks like Injustice 2 is iterative so it could be worth a buy.

Marvel vs. Capcom is trash, all I'm gonna say about that.

Hear me out here, and many will disagree, but Street Fighter V is one of the best fighting games right now. It's heavily timing based like any 2D fighter, but it can initially feel less fluid than Street Fighter 4. A lot of people hated that but it gives it a highly technical quality that will take you back to games like Third Strike or even SF2 Turbo. IMO SFV is the best fighting game out right now but it has a huge learning curve. It feels hugely rewarding when you start nailing combos with barely a frame to spare on your movement inputs. I'm not even good at it and I still feel the value. If you have the time to invest, try Street Fighter 5. If you want something that you can pick up and play, then Tekken 7 shouldn't disappoint. Tekken is regularly on sale at sites like Fanatical and Humble Bundle, so that helps too.

EDIT: Street Fighter 5 WILL feel clunky as you get used to it. This is by design and it feels completely unforgiving at first. Persevere and you'll recognise the value that's there.

Between Tekken and Marvel, which do you think offers better graphics and more gameplay? And do you think that I should buy the deluxe version or simply the base game

None of those.

Grab Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 on steam and be done with those casual ugly messes.
