SNES Edition New 3DS XL Confirmed For The US, Releases Next Month

GameSpot has the story.

Quote:
Following its release in Japan and Europe, Nintendo will soon bring the SNES-themed New 3DS XL to the US. The limited edition console launches in the region next month, on November 27.

Unlike the European version, which was identical to the Super Famicom-themed New 3DS XL that released in Japan, the US version sports a design based on the region's distinctive purple-and-gray SNES. The top flap looks like the classic console's Power, Reset, and Eject buttons, while the bottom resembles the SNES's cartridge slot.

Boo, it should come with more than one SNES ROM!

Yeah, not going to by a handheld that is now 5 years old and still costs $200.00 and has effectively been replaced by a more powerful product (Switch).

Bet it will be a rare collectable for that reason alone. SNES Mario Kart is still a favorite of mine. I love it, but I have my limits. The price tag likely exceeds those limits. Piry.

Never mind that said 200 dollars doesn't even get you a power adapter to plug the piece of shit in.

Spec, im going to agree with you. They need to bury this son a bitch. Its done. Pure milking right now.

Now a SNES Mini 3DS with all the games on the Mini would be cool.

I really do not buy anything that I will not use in some way or another. So I would not purchase this for $200.00 and leave it NIB. I have a 3DS (launch Cosmo Black) and it still works well enough. The update to the 3DS XL would be nice, but not at $200.00.
