Family Funeral

My Monday articles were a little late today as I was at the funeral for Mrs. Evil's Father, Ray. He was a great guy. Everyone always says, "He was a great guy." and Ray really lived up to that description. He had SEVEN kids and took them all on family vacations when they were growing up and then went on to go on family vacations with their kids and grand kids. I was so surprise to find out that he not only went places with my family, that he did the same thing with all his kids. How did he ever have time???

He was an old school east cost "Wise guy" who always dressed up and wore a gold watch and a gold chain and he was industrious and a military veteran.

Two marines buried him with military honors in the veterans cemetery next to his wife of 50 years.

Just a sad day for our family, but no one could have lived a better life than he did and there is no doubt that most of us will not be as missed or as loved when we pass on, because none of us has seven kids and dozens and dozens of grand kids!

Semper Fi, Ray.

Hope you and the family are doing okay, EA. Sounds like he lived a wonderful life.

Don't worry about being a bit late, Evil. That's totally understandable with that sort of thing going on in your life. We are just glad you're ok enough to post at all. If you need a break in this sort of trying time, just go for it. We understand.

The term "rich in family" is not just a saying.

Hold on to those memories, man. It sounds like you were one of the lucky ones to have a good - if not great - relationship with their father-in-law.

I'm sorry.

I try to do this with my kids every year. Ends up like a Lampoons Vacation.
