Telltale Working on "Dream IP's"

Telltale is working on what they consider "dream IP's" and they cant wait to announce them.

"Coming from LucasArts we have so many people here that love Star Wars and have worked with the license so that would be a great fit and very cool," added Connors. "In addition we will be working on a few licenses that definitely fall into our dream IP scenario and we can't wait to announce those."

A Star Wars adventure game from Telltale would print MONEY. I would love to see them do that.

Star Trek would be an excellent fit for this game type.

The husband and wife team behind Quest For Glory are doing a new project. It got kickstarted last year, I want to say.

I feel like Grim Fandango is a little outside Telltale's wheelhouse, but maybe I'm wrong. From the style to the look, I feel like that's more Tim Schaefer's wheelhouse.

I feel like DOTT was one of LucasArts only good Adventure games. I loved all of their products, but stuff like Full Throttle was much more of a cool story than it was a game, in my opinion. The actual parts where you interacted with it were obtuse or boring. Now, DOTT, on the other hand, was a fantastic and puzzling adventure game. I replay it as often as I can forget the solutions to the puzzles.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Kings Quest. They had licensed the game and said they were working on it, but then they let it
lapse when The Walking Dead manifested as their Cash Cow.

I agree. Especially if its made in the original series era.

I'm a TNG fan personally, but the original era from the recent films looked great. I could even deal with using an art style reminiscent of the original show so long as they avoided writing a corny story like many of the original episodes.

The old Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Judgement Rights adventure games were fantastic. Star Trek lends itself well to that kind of game.

Sooo, a perfect fit for Telltale, then? I think most of their stories were/are cool, the art is getting there, and their tech seems to be improving... slowly. However, in terms of gameplay, there wasn't much I liked in TWD, or W&G, or even S&M. I didn't play "Tales of Monkey Island", so I can't comment on that.
