Shadow of the Colossus Reviews "we're talking pure ecstasy here" "a classic"

Destructoid - 10/10

Quote:
It isn't perfect, since nothing is, but came come as close as you could get in a given genre. The new leader to beat in its sector, we're talking pure ecstasy here.
Trusted Reviews - 5/5

Quote:
Still one of the finest games ever coded, and now fit to be seen on the very best TVs. This is how remasters should be done, bringing the original content up to modern standards, without diluting what made it great in the first place. Bluepoint has effectively improved on perfection.
IGN - 9.7/10

Quote:
The true definition of a classic, the gameplay and story of Shadow of the Colossus are every bit as great and emotional today as they were in 2005. This outstanding remaster skillfully enhances those qualities with improved controls, performance, and sheer graphical beauty. It remains one of the best PlayStation games ever made, and it’s wonderful that Sony has brought it back to the fore so a new generation of gamers can experience it without having to look past its aged facade.
GameSpot - 9/10

Quote:
Shadow of the Colossus is a tremendous journey, and one well worth taking and retaking. The visual overhaul is stunning, thoroughly enhancing every facet of Wander and Agro's excellent adventure. Galloping through the tranquil world is always breathtaking; felling a monumental colossus is always humbling. Shadow of the Colossus is a beautiful reconstruction of an already exceptional title. It continues to be a modern classic and is an extraordinary game that everyone must experience.
Game Informer - 9/10

Quote:
The original Shadow of the Colossus is easily one of my favorite games. It was among the first that made me want to violently point at the screen and yell, “Look! Video games are art!” at anyone within earshot. Bluepoint’s remake feels different in some respects, but is exactly like Shadow of the Colossus in the important ways. Scaling beasts feels appropriately epic, and the few story moments that exist still tell a heart-wrenching tale of sacrifice in the face of impossible odds.

I'm pretty excited. Buying it for the 3rd time however I wish it would have added a couple more colossi. Still though, looks great and as long as it feels like the original, I'm stoked.

It looks way better. They must have changed it. Pass.

Me too...but, one more can't hurt. Right?

I guess I'll have time to play this in between sessions of Monster Hunter and Dragon Ball. Yeah.

I only played the PS2 release briefly, but I liked it. I'll pick up this version... eventually. I have such a backlog that I'm trying to restrain myself from buying more games until I start catching up.

I am weak in this way. Sometimes my resolve is strong....but usually it is not. I will probably grab this right away. Green Man Gaming does have it for 10% off after all.
