Didn't do anything wrong? He jammed his tongue down the throats of several unwilling women. That's not rape, but it is low level assault. He also has a history of groping women without permission. He's no John Conyers or Harvey Weinstein, but he's a boorish pig who should have NEVER been elected in the first place (his victory was stolen).

Far as I can tell he is going to resign. As he should. His policies have been good and he's a great speaker, but he is not a good representative if this is how he acts.

Look, we're on the same side here but there are times when it is very important to use the word "Allegedly". And this is one of them.

So far there has been no court brought to session or evidence presented and subjected to any level of veracity to claims made against Franken with the exception of one tasteless photograph from years and years ago.

I don't like the guy either and I think this whole Sexual Abuse pustule that has been being excised the last few months shows a really disturbing side of people I never expected. Both with how petty some of the accusations have been and the outsized retaliation and how serious accusations have been against some people against people you would never have thought would do such things.

However, very few of the worst allegations have actually been proven in real court or corroborated by witness accounts. Just a whiff of someone's name on the #MeToo hashtag no matter the severity of the "offense" is almost certain to follow with a headline in some new channel later that day of some dude suspended or being fired regardless of context, facts, or investigations much less any actual due process. As if #MeToo was the judge, jury, and executioner. A feminist's wet dream. "But I was doing a salsa dance with her!" "You should have never looked at her boobs like that even so you PIG! Pack your desk and get out of here!"

When Trump got slandered at the end of the campaign with harassment claims we all sallied forth to proclaim it as the pathetic last ditch effort it turned out to be. Same with the nothing-burger the "grab 'em by the pussy" tape ended up as.

Everyone deserves the same even if it's awesome to see, as you said earlier, schadenfreude, on the left. And especially if they are willing to deep fry their stanchest supporters for the crime of squeezing someone a little too tight on the waist.

There are a lot of people who say the same about Bush Jr. and Trump.

Sure. We only have a photo of near-groping, so "allegedly" it is. Also allegedly, in response and rightly so, he's resigning today.

Because he's innocent of the allegations. Not.

Except that their continued tears are a joy to behold, while I haven't thought of the MN senate elections since..well, since that post, lol.

Al Franken is too much of an asshole to resign. He's supposed to make a speech at the top of the next hour. I'd love to see him go because he has caused so much damage to my business.

I'm hoping he stays. I'd like him to give a speech from the floor of the Senate tearing the entire Congress a new one for its sanctimonious hypocrisy.

Of course, he's a sanctimonious hypocrite as well, so I doubt he's able to engage in such self-criticism.

Edit: And he just announced (live CSpan) that he's resigning in the next few weeks, but not before getting in a few digs at Republicans when in fact he's being railroaded out of town by his own party without any due process. DERP!

As I said he would resign, so he did. And most of his speech consisted of self-criticism and calling for further investigation of himself.

Now to see if Moore can match him and drop out of the race.

Leftie friends love to lord over me the fact that Al Frankin is admitting and taking responsibility for the accusations against him, while Roy Moore is not. Apparently, denying an accusation against you is to be shunned. Everyone should just admit to everything people say about them, regardless of whether the accusations are true or not. I mean, nobody lies, right? Well, just the people who deny the accusations apparently. Accusers never lie.

I think that is the most unnerving part of all of this sexual misconduct. The fact that most of it is just accusations, yet it's having the same impact as if it was proven guilt. Our country is either moving or has completely moved from "Innocent until proven guilty" to just "guilty". All it takes is an accusation or two and BOOM, career over. Doesn't matter if it's true or not.

It seems to be it would be pretty easy to oust a political opponent just by paying off people they have known in the past to accuse them of things. All it takes is an unfounded accusation and the world wants your head on a platter.

Listen and Believe.

We really need more of these baseless accusations. The fact that they are few and far between actually gives them more credence. Get rid of libel law and let the accusations fly. Eventually, people will not take them seriously and we will be back to having to prove it.

Innocent until proven guilty is a concept reserved for courts as those involve legal dealings.

The guy already admitted to trolling for teenagers. He argues he never did it without asking consent from the parents, but he doesn't deny he did it.

Because lying about that is the only thing that might get him into actual legal trouble.

Also pretty sure the most unnerving part of the accusations is that he screwed teenagers, but that's just me I guess?

You're guilty of being a douchebag progressive. Since this isn't court, you're not innocent of that and denying it won't help you since it's true.

Link or lying. And the link had better have him *menacing voice* "admitting to trolling for teenagers" */menacing voice* or YOU ARE LYING.

Link to proof of his having done that or YOU ARE LYING.

Good for Franken for falling on the pitchkforks of the progressive hate mob. Glad he was willing to take a political death sentence for his 'team' lol. Brave, brave man.

YouTube censors Polish Government's video on the failure of the Forced Relocation of Refugee Policy. They put it into a limited state which is usually reserved for “supremacist” or “extremist” content, but which don’t break any of the platform’s rules. You can't search for it or comment on them.

No comments for you, Polish Extremist government!

Which I acknowledged in the next sentence. Near groping in a years old photo isn't a death sentence caliber offense. Outside of the picture do we have any evidence of the other allegations?

Outside of a mention on #MeToo and some noteworthy examples how much evidence do we have for any of the probably thousands of people who have been fired recently without evidence?

"Due Process" has become an outdated notion and we've reverted to Mob Rule.

If your name, for any reason, is tainted with one of any number of labels even if it is faked and done out of pure maliciousness, you may as well forget about having a life worth living.

Sexual assault? Guilty no matter if true or "severity" since even a touch counts as assault apparently.

Pedo? Guilty.

Racist? Guilty.

White Supremacist? Guilty.

Sexist, Homophobe, Islamophobe, guilty! guilty! guilty!

People would much rather just cut the ties quick and easy than go through the trouble of Due Process in that pesky 5th Amendment.

That goes for you, me, and even Mr. Franken.

Resigning from the Senate is not a death sentence, either.

Yes. He resigned.

True. If you're innocent, you'd fight back though, not quit and slink away.

You know, I have this strange inkling that Terran might be a progressive cannibal troll and we're all taking part in a modern re-enactment of "The man who was Thursday"

Well, here you go then. An interview on Hannity and a set of his general statements collected from that and other sources.

I'm familiar with both of the above. Fail. No "trolling for teenagers" and no "he screwed teenagers," so I guess you got ONE thing right: "that's just me I guess?"

It would appear so.

You expected him to say those exact words even though I didn't put them in quotation marks or say they were direct quotes instead of just intent? I'm not sure why you'd believe that but, uuuh, you do you man.

I expected you to back up your own words with actual evidence. And I expected you wouldn't be able to, because you were lying.

And my expectations were accurate, and your words were not; a progressive being 'progressive.'
