Pure Evil - The Trapped at Home Movie Thread

While the world crawls to a stop and theaters are closed, what movies have you managed to catch on VOD (or other "sources") and what TV series have been eating up your time?

I've watched all of Hell on Wheels again two seasons of Black Sails, Onward, Birds of Prey, Daniel isn't Real, Pooka Lives, Hollow Man, The Room, The Hunt and have kept up with the new season of Better Call Saul, LEGO Masters, Project Blue Book, Mythic Quest, The Walking Dead, Top Chef and Westworld.

I also started a new LEGO Build.. the 1989 Batmobile.

I also read Max Brook's new novel Devolution and just received a copy of Paul Tremblay's Survivor Song.

Mrs. Evil was laughing as I was re-watching Beneath the Planet of the Apes. She said, "Isn't that one of the terrible ones?" Heresy!

I also forgot that last weekend I started watching the Living Dead movies. I watched the Criterion Collection of Night of the Living Dead and then Dawn of the Dead. I got stopped at Day of the Dead. I love that movie, but I've just seen it so many times that I didn't watch the whole thing.

Oh, and I watched Battle Los Angeles again. Fantastic action movie!

I don't have this one on Blu-ray.

I think I'm going to try to catch up on my to-be-read pile including the awesome Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes, Josh Malerman's Goblin, World War Z and a few other great books I've had lying around.

How is Ozark not on that list? It's probably the best series out currently.

Oh yeah, even though I'm watching it, Westworld S3 is about as exciting as a wet fart.

I'll check that out.

I've been watching Westworld season 3 and it's just plain terrible. Taking the story out of the park and making the Man in Black into a simpering idiot has just ruined the show.

They were talking about how the last episode was the most exciting up to date and like you said, it was about as exciting as a wet fart.

We blew through The Marvelous Mrs Maisel just recently. Damn, that show is funny. It might only be on Prime, tho. We also recently watched Locke and Key, which was decent enough. Sort of the same mood as The Umbrella Academy. We're currently watching Hunters. Quirky, but fun.

Oh, and there's a second season of Dirty Money on Netflix. We just watched the episode on Wells Fargo. Warning: Only watch this show if you feel like getting a hate on for idiots running large corporations.

I had a binge watch of the extended editions of The Lord of the Rings around Christmas, so I can't do that again quite yet. I was thinking of viewing the Marvel movies in their chronological order in the universe. That will keep us busy for a while.

Amazon Prime added back all of the classic James Bond movies...so I started watching some of my favorites.

Watching Anime lately. Akame Ga Kill is pretty cool. Tokyo Ghoul. Finished My Hero Academia season 4. Dont know what happened but Hulu has went nuts with Anime. All kinds and unedited. Enjoying that. Anime panty shots and tits abound!!

Staying up with West World. I like it. People talk about Ozark, but I never really got into crime drama. Although Season 1 and 3 of True Detective is amazing. Happy is fun and crazy.

Watched new Bad Boys. Was a lot better than I thought it would be. Minority Report after many years of not seeing it. Cruise's character is really good in that movie. Somehow I missed the whole drug addict thing years ago.

Mostly play Nioh 2 though. And working. Im network engineer. I built our companies VPN access so me and my team are pretty busy everyday making sure it's good/stable. Tweaking what could be better. They are actually make me earn my money now. haha

Make sure to watch the Return of the Living Dead movies as well (just 1 and maybe 2).

I managed to get in Season 2 of Happy! on Netflix.

Work and games leave little time for the bigger screen.

Been binging Chicago Fire, I'm not a tv person or really a movie person at all, but the wife likes this show and Chicago Med so something we can spend time together with. Works for me.

I've been too busy with work to be able to watch tv. I want to watch My Hero Academia 4, and since Picard is free now, watch that (before they start charging again). And the Wednesday Night group kind of did everything in Conan Exiles, so we are going to go old school and do D&D using Fantasy Ground. Before all this started I watched Ragnorok, an interesting take on modern Norse myths.

The wife and I are currently watching season 3 of Ozark, and I'm re-watching Lexx. I'll also sneak in The Last Starfighter too.

Josh Malerman, the author of Bird Box, has a free serial novel up on his website.

Carpenter's Farm - A Serialized Novel.

Picard is....not great. Maybe even the worst star trek adaptation of all time. It just has no redeeming quality whatsoever. I guess the acting is ok...That is the best thing I can say about it.

I've never been a huge fan of the Return series, really. Romero always tried to have some sort of message, and kept things relatively serious and believable. I understand why Dan O'Bannon took the first film in the direction it went (he didn't want to tread on Romero's territory, and in turn made it a black comedy/horror comedy), but the Return movies just never really clicked with me.

Plus, it's responsible for the whole "zombies eat brains" thing, and I never really cared for that.
