It's a shame Starsiege itself never got the proper funding to challenge Mechwarrior, so much wasted potential there.

Great game. I still have a copy of the board game here somewhere.

Between Ultima Online, StarCraft and Tribes I cannot think of three more influential games that completely solidified me in PC gaming. Tribes got me into first person shooters, and was way ahead of its time IMO. I did not get the big-map-with-vehicles FPS vibe again until BF 1942.

Love it.

Exactly. Tribes will always hold a special place in my heart. I pine for the silky smooth feeling of gliding along the terrain at insane speeds. I had a harder time getting into Tribes 2, but Tribes: Vengeance was surprisingly great.

I played Tribes obsessively and it was my favorite game from the time it was launched till Everquest. If I hadn't became addicted EQ it would have taken a hell of a game to pull me away.

I completely agree. There was a lot of potential in that universe and maybe if Sierra/Dynamix would have lasted past 2002 we would have got to see it.

Always loved BF42. Still by far the best competitive game out of the Battlefield series to this day. I used to compete in it in both CAL & TWL back in 03/04.

Dammit. I wanted to post the illustrated "Tribes" history as told by PA, but the original images are too big and will break the page. So, here's the less elegant alternative:
