Weekend Headbanger - What are you listening to?

Growing up in the 80s, Skid Row and Metallica were pretty much always playing on my tape deck, but on occasion, Megadeth was my other go to from my heavy metal collection. I always thought of Megadeth as a brother band to Metallica because of Dave Mustaine’s connection and often wondered what Metallica would have been like had Mustaine stayed in the band. I guess we will never know, but good news, it’s the weekend!! What are you listening to?

Click for the video.

Somebody bought the $2000 Gene Simmons Vault box set and they paid the extra $50,000 for a personal meeting with Gene and he brought Ace with him. They performed Cold Gin right in the living room. I watched the video on YouTube and I couldn't get the riff out of my head.

From what I read, Dave Mustane was toxic to be around, in more ways than one, until he finally got straight with the problems and abuse. I think he would have greatly lowered Metallica's output in both quality and quantity in their early years. Fun to speculate and maybe some cool stuff would have happened, but not enough to offset the bad, I think.

HAHA! The opposite. Are you not aware he singlehandedly wrote most of Kill 'Em All as well as the tracks Ride the Lightning and Call of Ktulu? He's also produced at least 33% more original material than Metallica have over the years. I went a little Megadeth crazy recently, and rebought all 15 original albums, Hidden Treasures, the Warchest, read his full bio, bought the video collection, two concert BluRays, the Japan only Breadline EP, the Behind The Music extended DVD, watched the Decline of Western Civilization II where he made all the other bands look like idiots, etc. etc. His political views on United Abominations and Dystopia are pretty spot on too.

That Kiss dude must have invested $200K in Netflix when it was $11 a share. Fuck me.
