Man, FFXV, finished it yesterday, has a ton of content cut out of the last half of the game. Last half feels rushed and unfinished. The standard FF slowburn story is gone, the emotional impact dulled terribly.
But, still worth playing, and undoubtedly a sign of games to come.
Choose your government: the majority ruling the minority, the minority ruling the majority, or everyone ruling themselves long as they do not initiate force, fraud, or theft against one another.
Speaking of Mass Effect and why I am boycotting the fucking compilation, here's some data from the Amazon reviews:
The good: ME 1/2/3 all included in one package. All of ME1 DLC is included [editor - interesting as this product was developed pre-EA/bioware purchase].
The bad: the following DLC is missing:
Lair of the Shadow Broker
Kasumi - Stolen Memory
Also, ME3 plays on with all ME2 DlC considered canon and played whether or not you have actually own or played through it so you sort of want to get the ME2 DLC for the whole story.
To fill in these gaps in ME2 and ME3 DLC you'll have to buy a shit-ton of "Bioware Points" to the tune of an additional $55 bucks. So for a few games that are 5 - 10 years old you're looking at close to $100 bucks on instant access or $60 for the whole experience.
THIS IS A RIP OFF. AFAIK no other franchise, not even Dragon Age, has done this awful gouging for this long a time frame.
ME2 ends with the bad guys stuck billions of miles away, asleep. ME3 begins with Shepard warning said bad guys are coming when there is a knock on the door and, oh shit, it's the bad guys. To say I was confused is an understatement, I was fucking baffled. Turns out, as vallor notes, there is a whole host of $DLC taking place after the supposed ending of ME2 that is required reading. And yeah, it's expensive and, unlike the base games, never goes on sale.

More digging and I found out a little more, because my ass is just that chapped about this whole Mass Effect thing.
Of the DLC they generously provide for ME2 two of the three were released for free. The third is at least someone nice if short addition of a few vehicle based missions (which were so much fun I could hardly wait!).
For ME2 Shadow Broker, which was released nearly 3 weeks after the game launched after many people finished but takes place around the halfway point of the story, and The Arrival which is the key bridge between ME2 and 3 are two very beefy DLCs which are missing. As is Overlord which is a nice vignette and Kasumi - Stolen Memory which adds an extra character are purchased through Bioware points.
NO DLC is included for ME3 except for the Multiplayer pack. This includes From Ashes (though if you upgrade to the Digital Deluxe edition on Origin you get the From Ashes for free!), Leviathan, and two I forgot in Omega, and Citadel.
I have no idea if this version is the "Extended Cut" version or not which includes the non-lame ending but since that was free I expect you can at least download it.
Once you add in the additional two ME3 DLCs I forgot to add in the first post we're up to well over $100 (USD) for the complete ME experience. Minus, of course, whatever gouging remains for the next decade for these games and now Andromeda.
These guys are worse than George Lucas and Star Wars.
