Project CARS - Start Your Engines

Quote:
Project CARS is the most authentic, beautiful, intense, and technically-advanced racing game on the planet.

Create a driver, pick from a variety of motorsports, and shift into high gear to chase a number of Historic Goals and enter the Hall Of Fame. Then test your skills online either in competitive fully-loaded race weekends, leaderboard-based time challenges, or continually-updated community events.

Featuring world-class graphics and handling, a ground-breaking dynamic time of day & weather system, and deep tuning & pit stop functionality, Project CARS leaves the competition behind in the dust.

Project CARS will be coming to the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Steam OS, WiiU & PC, starting March 17th in the United States and March 20th in Europe.

ALL of those platforms on the 17th? I'm doubting that.

Either way, I hope this is good.

I hate to be negative, but I think I've heard how realistic these games are going to be (Driveclub, The Crew) and how they have been overpromising and underdelivering consistently with either gimmicky game mechanics or just broken gameplay. I'll reserve final judgement until I see some in-game play and reviews, but I'm less than hopeful that Project Cars will deliver.

WiiU?!

Really... Just curious how they are going to pull of that...

I'm guessing it'll be a reskinned Mario Kart 8.

This game has been carefully in development for a while now and if you backed it, you could be involved in the development and have early access to it on Steam.

I've yet to hear a bad word of it.

It looks great. I can't wait for it to come out and see what people think.

I'm looking forward to release day. I've got it on Steam. If it's really good I'll get the PS4 version too. (I'm desperate for a good racing game on PS4.)

I sooo want to trust these guys. The lighting in "Project Cars" looks fantastic, and there are some cool exotic cars, with many German classics. Then again, I could not stand the driving model in "Need for Speed: Shift", and I'm not a core simulation player. I need some progression in a racing game, and I haven't read or heard anything like that for Project Cars.

Also: Does anyone know exactly how many cars in how many classes the game will contain? My favorite "feature" in the "Gran Turismo" series has always been the sheer number of manufacturers and car models, so, no matter the class, you always race a bunch of different opponents. This PC trailer, though, contains several "clone" races already...
