CD Projekt RED to focus on The Witcher for Next 2 Years #Witcher3 #Cyberpunk2077

Via PC Gamer:

Quote:
With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt out the door and a big success, you might think that CD Projekt would be looking forward to getting the ball rolling on its next project, Cyberpunk 2077. But CEO Adam Kiciński told Reuters that for now, and for a long time to come, the studio's focus will remain squarely on The Witcher.

"We hope and we are certain that Cyberpunk has even bigger commercial potential. It is too early to talk about it, though," Kiciński said. "This year, and the next one will be the years of the Witcher."

Good and bad. I was looking forward to CP2077 but if the time makes the Witcher better and transfers over to the other game it's only better for us.

Yup. In the end, if the game's good, all the better. With CDPR gaining Steam, I expect good things from this game.

Damn it. Every time this trailer pops up I end up rereading every Gibson book on my shelf.

Been keen for this Cyberpunk game since I first saw this trailer, but that was...what...over two years ago now? I'm cool with them taking their time with it, but man, they sure are taking their time. Good thing my backlog is endless.

Honestly, I'm loving the Witcher 3, but it is in spite of the gameplay. I like the sword-fighting, but I don't like how signs are integrated, and I dislike alchemy. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it just feels difficult to really master. I can go fights without being hit by using the dodge roll, but the parry is uncertain because you can't tell which attack are heavy attacks and I can only seem to parry attacks from the front. Signs would be great if they were certain interrupts, but they aren't certain. If you use one, you might interrupt, but you might trade hits. Maybe this gets better as you power him up.

Anyway, I still love the game because it's gorgeous, the voice-acting is a treat, and every side-quest has a story. This gives the world life and meaning that makes it a treat to play - even if the combat is a mixed bag.

I'll be an old man & tell stories to my grandchildren about how cool Cyberpunk is and they'll probably think I'm old and weird... and then I will (hopefully) finally play a great Cyberpunk RPG on the PC.

Yeah. I have to think their slow dev cycle is going to make them have to throw out work.
