Watch the Red Dead Online Frontier Pursuits Trailer

Quote:
On Tuesday, September 10th the world of Red Dead Online evolves with Frontier Pursuits - featuring three new Specialist Roles - each with their own unique paths and activities to help you forge new directions and carve out a life for yourself on the frontier.

Do the law’s dirty work and bring some of the most dangerous criminals to justice as a Bounty Hunter, partner with Cripps and turn your camp into a burgeoning business as a Trader, and search for valuable treasures across the five states as a Collector.

As you progress through each Role you’ll rank up, unlock new items, benefits and skills to enhance your experiences across the world, from gun spinning tricks to improved Eagle Eye and much more. For more details on these Frontier Pursuits including how you can access each for free, check out Tuesday’s post at the Newswire and the new page at the Red Dead Online site.

I keep telling myself I'll come back to this game (single player), but I never get around to it. I played it for a couple of weeks, and enjoyed it, but life got in the way as usual, and it just got lost in my back catalog.

I played the shit out of the first game; it's easily one of my favorite games of all time. That said, I'd really like to finish the story of this game... eventually.

Overly monetized dumpster-fire online, press to win single player.

The last RDR was one of my favorite games ever. Played to total completion (100%) and beyond. This one, I played a while and it just didn't do it for me. Not sure why.

Moving along then...

Same for me. I got about 20 hours in. When I think about going back to it, and even when I boot it up, the irritatingly-slow movement speed of the character and even the feel on the horse make me stop playing. I know they are trying to be realistic, I think, but the guy moves so slow it is an actual annoyance. Just make the movement arcadey, like most 3rd person games. I'd love to spend time in that world.

This is probably one of the things that caused me to stop playing, but I've since forgotten about it. Whatever the case, I can never convince myself to fire up the game.

My single complaint from the last game was the terrible (and typical) R* controls, like wrestling with a drunk elephant. They can't get that shit right.

Fleetwood Mac said it best:

I finished the single player campaign and I did a few hours of multiplayer. Multiplayer is the same as the free roam after you finish the campaign, just with more options for costumes, weapons and horses.

It was full of gankers which is too bad, because it’s just like free roam. If you get on a decent server, you can mostly just wander around and hunt and fish and do missions without worrying about the other players. There are a few people who like to just sit in a bush and snipe everyone that walks by, but you can quit out and jump right back to where you were on another server if that happens.

I think it has some potential, but they need to separate out the PvE and PvP servers like WoW does.
