I think its because Blizzard will support their games for years and years. EA is going to come out with a new game in 2 years, causing you to piss your money away.

The difference is that with games like Overwatch, the only thing they're selling is cosmetic in nature. EA's lootboxes, on the other hand, contains characters, upgrades and other stuff that directly affects gameplay.

I wouldn't spend money on lootboxes in either case, but Blizzard's method is the more tolerable of the two.

Loot boxes suck, I am just lucky I don't much care what my character looks like. Spending any real money for virtual items, just don't make sense, especially when I will not be playing that game in 6 months any way.
