Yeah I'm kinda surprised about this. It does look really good! I might actually make an effort to see this in theaters.

Doesn't look totally terrible, but then again with a few minor changes it could just be another one of the countless person finds robot/alien/monster, robot/alien/monster befriends person, robot/alien/monster is persecuted by the government, movies. Just generic as fuck.

Not sure how to feel about this.

Will reserve judgement until I've seen the entire thing in previews.

What a shock. Making the characters look more like their old, proven selves makes the movie look exponentially better.

The moment I saw Starscream's head, looking like the G1 toy, a part of my heart melted and I knew that there's hope. Somewhere.

Now all I need is for the military to play a smaller part and let the Robots save the day.

I feel like I already know the whole plot just from this trailer. Then again, a new Herbie film can't be all bad, right?

The Shape of Metal....

Seriously though, it looks a whole lot better than the Bay "films".

I didn't watch the trailer, but I want this to be a movie about the black transformer from the first movie. That would be some hot garbage.

Just rewatched The Iron Giant over the weekend. That looks like The Iron Giant-lite. It might be the first Transformers movie I'll sit all the way through since... the first Transformers movie.

I guess I'm a little confused about the reactions to this. While it looks mildly improved from the Bay designs, it still looks much more like them than G1. I wonder if you could really be true to G1 without looking cheesy though. How would you do this face properly in a modern film?

If they could ever capture the feel of the original Transformers movie (animated, 1986), while keeping things from getting too cheesy, that would be amazing. Anything else for me is like, hmm... maybe... I dunno.

Heh heh....That's how I feel about Jurassic World 2. They saved me the price of admission by showing me every halfway decent scene from the movie already.

Bumblebee is a VW Beetle instead of a cameo. The robot form looks humanoid. He has the autobot insignia on him. Etc.

While it's not 100% identical to the cartoon, it couldn't be. But it is looking like an adaptation of G1 as opposed to a wholesale reinvention for no reason.

I mean, look at the number of people who recognized Starscream in the trailer. IT's not like they SAID that was Starscream. They just recognized him. That pretty much solidifies the idea that they are evoking G1 in a meaningful way.

I'm glad to see them break away from the formula of the Transformers movies (which I don't really care for). I'm curious to see how this girl and Bumblebee "break up", because he ends up as Shia "No no no no no!" LaBeouf's pal in the first movie.

Great... another damn spinoff focusing on a single character like Solo. Ugh. Hollywood please stop.

As for the Bay Transformer movies.... I watched them all for the SFX but they're all pretty much just eye candy with crap at their core.

Please NO MORE SHIA. Dreadful actor.

Bumblebee: A Transformer's Story.

SPOILER ALERT: He get's TOTALLY COOL in the future when he stars in the Michael Bay movies and isn't all sissied up as a crummy hipster VW bug and becomes a bitchin' camaro! Then he dies, or something... I don't know.
