Witcher News

CD Projekt had a live stream today, and they made a couple of announcements regarding The Witcher series:

-The Witcher 1 is coming to Mac, and existing PC owners will get a free upgrade to the "hybrid edition" which will allow them to play it on either platform.

-The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition patch for PC users will be 10gb, and players can begin preloading it on April 11th.

-All owners of The Witcher 2 will receive a backup copy of the game on GoG, regardless of where they originally bought it. This will be available on April 17th.

-Lastly, Gamespot has a comparison video of the 360 and PC versions of The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition.

SaintB, I would have loved to hear that too, but it might have cut into Witcher 2 sales. I could see them doing what the Crysis people did, and release the first game at a later date in the Live market place.

Yeah, I guess that is what I was expecting today. That they were going to say, hey, pick up this game and get like a discount on it on the XBLA or something to that nature. There is still hope tho. I for one would purchase it because at the time it came out, I didn't have a computer that could support it.

Lets hope they never get bought out, or sold to someone like "THE WORST COMPANY IN AMERICA" EA.

I love that EA got dubbed the worst in america this year.

The backup copy on GoG is great news for me, since I originally bought it on Direct2Drive. After they were bought out by Gamefly I couldn't download it from their site, so I had to download a torrent and use my legit CD key to activate it.

It amazes me the universe of suck that the gaming industry has become...

...and then there is CD Projekt standing proudly above that.

I bought Witcher 1, then 2, and now I'm going to buy 2 again on the Xbox just so I can give them more of my money.

I pre-purchased Grimrock on gog.com. Then I realized that I could get a Steam key AND the DRM-free game if I bought directly from the developer for the same price. I actually was getting ready to request a refund and then thought...nah, gog is too awesome. Have my money!

360 version looks pretty good. PC is always gonna be better but 360 is old and game still looks good on it. Thought it would be worse.

I think when Witcher 1 got the Enhanced Edition upgrade, it was a huge patch for that game, too.

Still, glad I have an ISP that doesn't send vague idle threats when I download more than anyone on my block.
