Nothing so far. Steam is not what it once was. Other retailers tend to consistently have better prices and steam keys. I will probably get arma 3 though since my son wants that for Xmas.

Agreed. Combined the lackluster price cuts with the complete clusterfuck of the store page now days, I have spent more at other retailers (GMG, Humble Store, etc) than Steam proper.

Got Stick of Truth, Shadows of Mordor + Season's Pass and Evil Within. None came from Steam. Their loss, I guess.

None of the games have been all that interesting or I already owned them.

For anyone who has had a Steam account for a while, sales are naturally not going to offer as much because their sales have been so good you most likely already have bought what you want for dirt-cheap prices, or used keys from purchases elsewhere to obtain the game through Steam. That's how it is for me. My wish list is so short, with a bunch of newer titles, that I'm not going to see much in the way of deals.

Steam's sales haven't changed at all IMO. Their clientele/customers just happen to own most of the low-hanging (cheap) fruit (titles).

2013-14 has been a weak time for gaming, with nearly every AAA game being a disappointment and a bevy of DayZ-style survival titles saturating the market. Seeing these on sale is obviously less exciting than years that have a Skyrim.

Also, the Thanksgiving sale traditionally isn't as good as the Holiday (Xmas) or Summer sales. Prices are usually lower during those, so I usually wait.

It is actually the Autumn Sale. During the Winter Sale, right around Christmas, discounts will probably be steeper so anyone looking for a newer title and needing to save the money should wait a bit longer for the best price.

I have waited for this sale to pickup a few games on my wishlist. Happy with Banner Saga for $7.

Steam has gone mainstream and the sales are less generous. Same reason Playstation exclusives have tamed down with the PS4 leading the console race. Less perceived need to bribe owners.

Still, be glad sales happen at all. I picked up a couple nice titles.

Steam sales are basically redundant now they have coupons for most if not all games from 50-90% off anyhow.

Even though I had just the base game of Civ V, I bought the complete package because it was cheaper than buying the two expansions separately. So instead of paying 15 bucks for just the expansions, I got the whole ball of wax, including all the scenario DLC for twelve bucks. Amazing with all that extra content. I played for 9 hours yesterday(one...more...turn).

I won't buy much else. I'll hold out until the Holiday Sale begins and assess what I want then.
