If this one isn't solid, I think for my older self the magic will be gone. I'll just be going through the motions to go see it, which means I probably won't.

Needs to be good. Don't think it will be, though. Mediocre is what I expect.

Can't wait, its good to see new Star Wars movies. Anything is better than episodes I-III! I'm more worried about the Han Solo movie, this one will be good as long as they don't push that bb-9 and little furry things too much. They don't need to plug shit in for marketing, the name Star Wars does it by itself.

I found The Force Awakens to be reasonably enjoyable the first time around but a subsequent viewing made me realise how flawed and generic it was. I have a lot of issues with it now and subsequently, I'm not sure that I have any interest in any of the Disney SW films going forward.

ROGUE one was good because people did not have any expectation .... I like it more than the 7 episode

agree.

episode 5,i mean 8, or is it 5? i’ll go and see. but really it seems these are more reboots than proper expansions of the star wars universe.

Rogue One i think was largely good. it felt like a proper “in the star wars universe” type of movie and actually told an interesting side story.

Was bored and simply not entertained while watching The Force Awakens. Recently watched it again and had the same reaction I have whenever a Transformers movie is on tv. I enjoyed Rogue One a bit more except for how they so abruptly tossed aside Forest Whitaker's character. He was the only interesting one and it was handled like shit. Everyone else was bland and underdeveloped I didn't care what happened to them at the end.

The prequels didn't already do that to you?

We will end up going to see it, but after Force Awakens and Rogue One I'm not expecting much. More bland characters and generic CGI action in the Star Wars universe. Wake me when something happens.

I mean, we are miles above Episode I - III so I guess I shouldn't be complaining, but I can't help but feel that there are talented people out in Hollywood who could do something really exciting and daring with these movies (and that doesn't have to mean making them more 'adult') and that Disney just isn't willing to take any chances at all with their new cash cows. (Marvel & Star Wars)

I suspect the new Indiana Jones will end up being equally generic.

I didn't watch them in the theater. The previews were bad enough.

My younger self still holds the glimmer of excitement I felt from waiting in line at the originals. They were amazing.

I'm looking forward to The Last Jedi a lot more than the Han Solo spin-off. Don't know if Ron Howard can salvage that, plus it wouldn't be surprising if it gets delayed again.
