Used my $55 of Xbox credit earned from using Bing to get Fallout 76. Why not, it's basically free, and I'm curious. Also been playing BFV and still enjoying it after a couple days.

Fallout 76 on the X1X here. Loving RDR2, but have always been a fan of the wasteland and would like something to muck around with co-op from time to time.

RDR2 might be hitting a wall for me as all Rockstar games do. I feel like about 15 hours in they just get to be boring. Hoping that won't be the case, but it has happened with every one of their games so not hopeful. Maybe I should stick to main story missions for a bit instead of getting sidetracked. Just recently got into chapter 3.

The game is pretty much one big ass tutorial for Red Dead Redemption. So if you are finding that you are being bored with sidequests and strangers (which often are the best part of the game, story wise) then ignore anything that is not yellow/gold in color and just finish the game.

I've been playing Battlefield V on PC. Very fun so far. Feels like an improvement over BF1, especially with all the customization.

I've been playing BFV for a few days now. We were all wrong. I'm pretty sure at one point I hated EA enough to say I doubted if I would play this one. But I found a way to do it for cheap and it's really good. This is still DICE. even though they're still owned by shitty EA.
Playing at 4k maxed @ 60fps there's not much that looks better; it's beautiful. 60fps there's not much that looks better; it's beautiful.
The campaign is also fun. In the first campaign, it reminded me of Far Cry 5, which has been my GOTY so far for 2018. The second story reminds me of a 007 campaign. So far everything has been good, and nothing has been bad.

I think I will go that route for a bit and see how it goes. It is definitely easy to get sidetracked when you stumble across something. One of my favorite parts of Witcher 3 was how great and in depth a random side quest could be. I tried to do them all. But maybe I am not balancing it out well enough right now.

Rockstar tends to gate their content by story mission progress, so you will often find yourself at a complete dearth of things to do if you just do everything but story missions. So your best bet is to switch back and forth between the two on a regular basis, rather than doing only one until all content is no longer available, then switching to the other.
Assassin's Creed: Origins had sorta the opposite problem, where you could pretty much do most of the game before even doing the majority of the main missions, but some of the side quests are story based, so you ruin efficiency by ignoring the story missions. For example, some of the armor sets can only be obtained near end-game because the Cult of Kosmos members are story mission gated.
