Arma 3 - Tanoa Reveal Trailer #ARMA3

Love the game. Now please, utilize more than one thread on my CPU!

I want to love ARMA. I have every version they've ever put out. As a sand box, it's fun to play in but they never seemed to get the combat into the "fun" territory. It's always, shoot, die, reload repeat.

To this days the AI enemies are unnaturally accurate. Stick and eye out from behind cover and they'll hit it. I've played many an hour of ARMA but something is just missing. The single player never works. The user made maps are fun but there's just something lacking.

I can shoot better in real life than my character can in game. I think it should be the opposite.

Yeah. Same here. Owned tonnes of it, want to love it but can't.

Seems like the game where you need a squad formed IRL on forums or from life or whatever to get consistent fun out of it, like DayZ.

Lone-wolfing it is drab.

ARMA 3 is a huge step ahead of any older ARMA. It's worth playing just for the user made missions. I had lots of fun with it. Just not as much fun as I should have had. It can get frustrating. Don't even bother with most of the single player.

If you can get it from a decent sale, I recommend it.

Anyone know what real-life location this is based on?

This is the game that makes me want an uber vidoe card. I can dial it in on my 4GB 770, but there's a lot more bling hiding in there.

Interestingly, the issue with ARMA isn't your video card, it's the CPU. The games in this series are so poorly optimized that they tend to run on a single thread. You can decrease draw distance and increase the graphical setting to offload the CPU. It's kind of weird like that. Check out r/arma if you want some details or google Dyslexi. He's a youtuber who has his own ARMA group. Knows his stuff about the series.

I would have to make a specific build just for this game.

After all that patching it's still that way? Okay, time for an uber Intel CPU!

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. BI needs to step up their game. Large PvP games are pretty much unplayable.
