Sheesh, I know we just talked about not bashing on everything, but that looks astoundingly dull.

Far Cry 5 wasn't even fun. Not only that it was full of bugs, the coop was not very good including the fact that you had to stay close to each other, and the graphics were less than stellar. No thanks, hard pass!

I only played some of Far Cry 4 and it wasn't bad, but you were just doing the same thing all the time, attacking the exact same village just somewhere else on the map. There wasn't any variety.

I really liked Far Cry Primal when I played it on the PC and I kept waiting and waiting for a price drop on the PS4 and then I never went back to it.

Now my to-be-played pile is so huge I'm not sure I'll ever get around to it, but I really liked what I played of Primal.

I love the little stand-alone mini far cry games like Blood Dragon. Affordable, don't suck up half your life, and give you a great Far Cry experience. This one is a bit pricey, though... Will wait for sale.

Wow, wtf was that? Far Cry 5 is still on my Wish List but with a follow-up like this I have to wonder if I should bother.

Btw, why do people let bad guys sit outside their gates and make big speeches about how they are going to take all their shit like that without just killing them?

I mean those chicks were there waxing poetic-like for several minutes, more than enough time for someone with a scope to take one of their heads off which tends to take the wind out of people's sails, or at least give you an advantage of taking out some leadership...

Note to self: if the world comes to an end and a bad guy comes up and starts telling you how they're going to raid you or tells you to put down your weapons or they will kill someone. Just kill them. They are going to 1) raid you then probably kill you, and 2) kill that person anyway, then raid you and then kill you.

Jesus H, I seem to always be on the opposite side of most people here. Far Cry 5 is one of my favorite games of 2018, and playing it maxed in 4k with HDR it looks like one the best games ever made visually.

This one looks interesting, it's odd that a nuclear wasteland is so colorful. In FC5 you could pick the gender of the main character, so I would expect the same here. It is also really cool that the cult leader villain returns in this game, that'll be interesting.

Aside from everything else, the mechanics and open-world Ubisoft structure is always super enjoyable in the Far Cry games. FC5 had airplanes and helicopters which were awesome, and those look to be here too. I'll be getting this one for sure. The only FC game I've struggled to get into was Primal, probably due to the lack of guns.

I loved Far Cry 5 for like 50 - 70% of the game, but there was just nothing to do. The shooting was great, I loved the environment, but holy shit it was boring to me. Far Cry 2 and 4 have been my favorites of the series so far. 5 to me was like 4 without an exciting protagonist. The cult was boring.

Interesting to hear that. My friend thinks FC3 was the best, and I find it hard to argue with him. I loved the "rich kids of Instagram" cast. That game had a really cool story with the Vas villain. FC4 also had a cool villain. FC5 also had a great one, but I am a sucker for cult stories.

FC5 just was so fun for me, I spent around 60 hrs on console, and 70 hrs and counting on PC. I wanted to finish every mission. The villain being in this Far Cry 5 sequel just makes it more interesting.

I had a blast with Far Cry 5; one of the main reasons I didn't finish it is because I ended up snagging God of War, which ended up bogarting all of my gaming time...and I just haven't loaded it back up.

It was also the first Far Cry title I had spent any significant amount of time with, so there's that. I wasn't burnt out on the series like so many others were.

Man I know what that's like. I have a bad habit of buying games before I'm finished with the ones I've got. When I got FC5 it really took over my gaming time; I played it a ton and really enjoyed it. The Mars and Vietnam DLC were pretty fun too. I know we don't all have similar tastes, but for me it was one of the best games of the year.

Even the pause menu music is amazing!

I loved FC5's setting, the plot however was well.. terrible. And it was reallllllly fucking short to boot.

I was hoping they would go post apocalyptic with the next one. Do something really far out there like the underrated Far Cry Primal (which I loved) and batshit Blood Dragon. Whatever that is looks... the same as Far Cry 5 but with the Ripper from Unreal Tournament.

they really destroyed multiplayer, coop was a disaster due to distance limitations and progress recording....

Map editing was limited almost by design so that the community couldn't out-perform the devs.

I'm not interested in JSW fallout edition.

the end of the world is the last place SJW's would excel.

I really hated aircraft and vehicle controls the annoying music and the fact you were randomly pulled out of a mission because someone shot you with a magic bullet. Garbage game, and yes dull. Put some fishing line on it and hung it outside to scare the birds.

When I got in an aircraft or vehicle, I had my xbox controller sitting there.

The music, especially the pause menu music, was awesome. I made a youtube video of nothing but the pause music in Dead Rising 4, and have had endless comments and likes. I've been thinking of making another video of the FC5 pause music. Damn it now I'm gonna have to go boot it up just for that.

I never played coop, so I don't know about the problems there, or the magic bullet thing you're talking about. I played FC5 for over 150 hours, and really freaking loved it. I love cult stories too, which probably added to it.

Given my experience, I can't understand any hate thrown FC5's direction. Even the online MP was pretty fun for awhile.
