Blumhouse's The Hunt Teaser Trailer Goes Gunning for Human Prey

Quote:
Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are, or how they got there. They don't know they've been chosen… for a very specific purpose … The Hunt.

In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a group of globalist elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of the hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin, GLOW), knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (two-time Oscar® winner Hilary Swank) at the center of it all.

From Jason Blum, the producer of Get Out and The Purge series, and Damon Lindelof, co-creator of the TV series The Leftovers and Lost, comes a new mysterious social thriller.

Trailer doesn't show much, but I haven't seen a human hunting movie since Stone Cold's The Condemned, so I'm down. This looks to take it seriously, which could be cool. More horror-ish.

I think the idea is good, but the description is a real downer. It said something about the movie being "political" which is pretty much what totally ruined the Purge films. More of that isn't what I want to see in a movie.

A shame, because the whole "hunting humans" meme usually makes for a decent film.

Would you believe I have that one on Blu ray and I've never watched it? I picked it up when I was in the mood for a Battle Royale style movie after seeing Gamer and for some reason I never watched it.

It's dumb fun, I remember thinking it was fine. It also, as far as I can remember, is the last time Stone Cold headlined a movie released in theaters. Not sure why he didn't take off as an action star. Yes he's not the best actor but that doesn't usually matter for straight Arnold style action films. Almost seems like it was his own choice. Like he figured he had more than enough money and didn't want to deal with movies.
