CoD: Modern Warfare Makes A Huge Change To How DLC Maps Are Released

Quote:
Activision has confirmed that most of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's post-release content, including DLC maps, will be released on all platforms at the same time. That is a big deal for Call of Duty, as CharlieIntel reminds us, this will be the first time in more than a decade that neither PlayStation nor Xbox gets a head start on content releases. That said, PS4 gets a "Day 1 advantage" that's yet to be specified, but with cross-play coming, there won't be any concerns about non-PS4 users lacking access to maps.

In a statement, Activision said the developers have "worked to ensure that content will be released in a way that enables all players to continue to seamlessly play together."

Activision said that "most" of Modern Warfare's post-release DLC--which includes new maps, modes, and Spec-Ops missions--will "release simultaneously across all platforms."

That's all Activision had to say on the subject, but the company said it will share more details on Modern Warfare's post-release DLC strategy in the weeks ahead.

With no season pass, I imagine the maps will retail individually for a handsome full retail price. And I expect the same shenanigans with loot boxes after a month of glowing reviews, similar to what BLOPS 4 did.

A tiger can't change it's stripes.

I played the last one and I had fun for 6 weeks or so. The interface was a mess of microtransaction shops, the skins were laughable, and the characters (aside from the pyromaniac Russian) were mostly stupid. But I had a lot of fun with the gunplay. This one looks like much more of a return to basics in terms of tone. I'm probably not going to buy it myself but if the wife picks it up for me for Christmas, I certainly won't turn my nose up at it.

You dirty rat. I mentioned that stuff to show how good the gunplay was. It was good enough that not even all of that crap stopped me from playing it. Go back and play your baby diaper Nintendon't games and leave me alone!

Bahaha

I'm kidding btw, which I know you know. Different strokes. I know the gunplay on those games are always good.

I AM playing baby diaper Nintendon't games lately, though, surprisingly. That Fire Emble: Three Houses is no joke. Outstanding tactics RPG. Being that I'd never played Links Awakening on the GB, that one is pretty good too.
