George R.R. Martin's Nightflyers Season 1 Comic-Con Trailer

Quote:
Follows eight maverick scientists and a powerful telepath who embark on an expedition to the edge of our solar system aboard The Nightflyer -- a ship with a small tightknit crew and a reclusive captain -- in the hope of making contact with alien life. But when terrifying and violent events begin to take place they start to question each other -- and surviving the journey proves harder than anyone thought.
Event Horizon the series. Not very original, but seems like it will be worth a watch.

Yawn. Would be cooler if this were the announcement he’d finished the book he’d spent the last eon writing.

It's like a teenager saw Event Horizon and Solaris back-to-back and was like "I have a great idea for a movie!!"

Nightflyers was a novella Martin wrote in 1980. Event Horizon came out in 1997.

Just sayin'.

Event Horizon might be my favourite horror film as it really gave me a feeling of... what's the word... skill crawling. It was just so psychological.

I'll probably enjoy watching the show, which will probably get cancelled, in the hope that something is explained.

Okay.

He was talking about Event Horizon, though.

Second, for the same reasons. That movie actually scared me.

So you're saying his project completion rate was as good then as it is now?

Just sayin.

Yea I've given up on finishing GoT. I just assume he is going to a 100 other projects then die before ever finishing that last book.

No, I'm saying it's pretty friggin' retarded to say that a series based on a book written 17 years before Event Horizon is somehow ripping off Event Horizon.

It sure would be "pretty friggin' retarded" to say that, but of course I didn't say that "a series based on a book written 17 years before Event Horizon is ripping off Event Horizon." If you think it's "pretty friggin' retarded' not to know that this trailer is based on a work that is 38 years old, which I did not, then I'd say you are 'pretty friggin' retarded' for having such a mentally deficient definition of 'retarded.'

So, there's that to consider. Just sayin.

And it damn well does play right into the stereotype of Martin, that he can't get shit done on a timely basis. LOL.

Have a happy triggered day!

Then what did you mean by, "Event Horizon called. It wants its concept back, lol."?

Well, it's kind of your fault for not knowing that this is based on a 38-year-old novella, only to turn around and crack a joke about how it is somehow ripping off a movie that came 17 years after it was published.

Is it my use of the word "retarded" that is setting you off?

So, someone waiting until 2018 to option an older story of his due to the success of Game of Thrones is somehow his fault?

I don't think I was the one who was triggered, in this case.

I mean it seemed derivative of Event Horizon, genius! Contrary to your incorrect assertion that I led with "Hey, this series that predates Event Horizon by seventeen years is ripping that later series off" (which would actually be retarded, because it would be representative of a fairly diminished cognitive capacity) I simply made a crack about how similar it seemed without the knowledge that it was an ancient PoS novella that lay dormant in a compost pile out back of Martin's home.

You, on the other hand, went full triggered retard.

Well, it's kind of your fault
Serious business on the Internet! You've fixed it! Congratulations!

Is it my crack about the concept trailer similarity to other concepts that is setting you off?

Pass that crack pipe. You've had enough.

You keep using that term, but I don't think it means what you think it means.
