This is where I go to the movies.

Screw the evening shows, though. They're almost 6 bucks!

It acted like one. That's like saying Resident Evil 4 was not a zombie game.

FOR THE COMMON PERSON, they will consider it a zombie film. For the zombie loving fanboy elite, they will make these kinds of silly differentiations.

Thank you! Somebody had to say it. It's like people considering shaun of the dead a zombie flick lol.

The first half of Zombieland was awesome, once Bill Murray was introduced the whole movie went to absolute shit.

I am a huge fan of Bill Murray but the whole Zombieland movie got super stupid once they ended up in his mansion. I wouldn't mind a sequel though. I like the concept of the movie.

RE4 wasn't a zombie game, which is why a lot of people hate it.

So if someone points out that there is a difference, that makes them a fanboy elite? Interesting... That means Star Wars is a Star Trek film, right? Because only fanboy's care about differentiations?

I agree, but the movie up to then made up for it, in my opinion. I'm still torn between that and Shaun of the Dead for my favorite zombie comedy.

Personally though, for movies, I'm a fan of monster-zombies, not just shambling masses, and I think a large part of the public is too. Books can take time to build the suspense of swarms of undead slowly overtaking people, but movies make that difficult. It's because of this that my favorite zombie action movies are the Resident Evil and 28 series (I'm looking forward to 28 Months, if it ever happens). Again though, this is my preference for zombie MOVIES, not general zombie stories or books.

If you're leaving a gaming news website because we're arguing over nerd-culture, why on earth are you bothering to apologize for your inability to type? We're all just going to assume you're some neck-bearded idiot once you're gone anyway.

/hugs

I'm pissed. This movie looks awful in my opinion. I read the book (it was awesome, couldn't put it down), and when I heard a movie was getting made I was really psyched. Now this will either be a success and tell Hollywood that they can fuck up good books as long as they get a big star and shitty CGI, or it will bomb and Hollywood will blame the zombie genre and refuse to make more movies with them. DAMN IT!!!

I can't possibly agree more! That is why I still bought the movie and watch it up to Bill and then turn it off. Lol! And as for Shaun of the Dead, love it. Also love Dawn of the Dead remake and 28 DAYS Later. WEEKS could have been a better movie if they left out the whole 'this time it's personal' attitude with dad zombie.

The zombie movie genre needs more great movies. There is hardly any worth a damn. And the same goes for the vampire and post-apocalyptic genres as well.

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I haven't read this book. I own a hundred zombie books and for some reason I could never get into this one. I think he started with the wrong scenes and it was so slow in the beginning that I never made it that far.

I'll have to remedy that before the movie comes out.

While totally off-topic, if you want intense military action like this trailer. Check out Rex Miller's novel Profane Men. It is one of my Top 10 novels of all time. I re-read it every few years.

If you love zombie stuff, you might also want to read Simon Clark's Stranger. It is zombie-ish.

I'm not really a Zombie/horror fan though I really enjoyed JL Bourne's Day by Day Armeggedon (and Beyond Exile). I found WWZ to be very boring and slow in comparison. Tried to finish it multiple times and just can't get into even though I'm half-way through the book. Some of the stories are a little interesting but the ones I found interesting were just too short.

Think I got the JL Bourne recommendation from this site a couple of years ago. Looking forward to the third book, it's due out Dec. 26th I believe.

Looks like a decent action flick. Plus I get the bonus of being able to read the book and not worry about it spoiling the movie hehehe
