Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Launches January 11th

Quote:
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Releases in the Americas and Europe on 11th January, 2019

After overwhelming fan demand, Bandai Namco Entertainment is pleased to announce that Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will be available for the first time in Europe on January 11th, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation4 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition includes up-scaled screen resolution, characters, events, and costumes that were never released outside of Japan, as well as introducing two new playable party members. Flynn Scifo, the main character’s best friend and rival, and Patty Fleur, a young pirate searching for her lost memories.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition uses a specialised iteration of the ‘Tales Of’ series’ Linear Motion Battle System for combat. Players control a single party member in real-time combat while other party members are controlled by a customised set of A.I. commands. Players can swap between any of the four characters at any time during battles and can perform physical attacks, Magic Artes or even powerful Mystic Artes.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 system, Nintendo Switch and PC.

I may just have to pick this up. This was the last "Tales of" game that I truly enjoyed. The skits, characters and story just gelled so well in Vesperia. Also, it was the last "Tales of" game that wasn't bogged down by outfit based DLC.

Stupid fucking idiots! They have this amazing steelbook artwork but then use the "shitty" fake steelbook that hinges on the SPINE so it looks like HOT GARBAGE with no label sitting on your game shelf! OMG!

As for the game, yeah its the best Tales game, but damn that packaging.... ugh.

Heh, it's almost as bad as the Halo 5 collector's edition. At least this one has the excuse of "we decided to cheap out the steelbook version". The Halo 5 CE steelbook has a this giant thick TOTALLY BLANK spine that drives me up the wall every time I see it.

Reminds me why I've tended to start buying digital CEs now, especially with Sony giving out sweet physical pins with them in the mail. And they make it super easy to upgrade to the deluxe edition. Xbox should follow suit.

I love lining up all of my games on my shelves and treat them like books, so it does drive me nuts when the spines on the games are hard to read or non-existent.

I guess it might have a plastic sleeve with the endcap info. Seen that a couple times with the split-spine format.

Yes, OK, but who keeps steelbooks in plastic sleeves long term? It's annoying.

I generally do unless it is a game, like a multi-player game, where I am going to be reaching for the disc often. For anything else, it is a play and put back type of situation. So I try to keep as much of the original packaging as possible.
