My Favorite SPECIAL EDITION Consoles & Handhelds

Some of my favorite special edition consoles and handhelds both in my game room and some that I hope to buy.

Always had a soft spot for any Nintendo system in Atomic Purple. Also the spice Gamecube.

My friend Kinsey has the spice Gamecube along with matching controllers and Game Boy Adapter. Seriously jealous.

Great video. You probably know the green translucent Xbox was the original shell on some of the developer kits.

Also, fun fact about the Star Wars Xbox 360. Having the Blue LED in the power button nearly caused that downfall of that console version.

The Xbox 360 was running on such a minimal power profile, drawing JUST ENOUGH to run, that the Blue LEDs took too much power and the first prototypes didn't work reliably. I don't know if it is still the same but it seems blue color LEDs take JUST a smidgen more power than other colors and it was enough to screw with the Xbox 360 hardware until they found a way to save that ounce of energy somewhere else.

Really?! Crazy. I did not know that! LOL It's funny how little things like that can be a huge engineering pain in the ass.
