That's really smart they're doing that.

we yell at them for charging full price without single player, then we yell at them for offering a reduced price multiplayer only... we are assholes lol

still not interested in the game, but $15 for a AAA shooter is a pretty good deal

A few weeks ago there was an excellent article on Wired detailing why there were fewer complaints from the industry about "Used Games." Three reasons were given: Backlash from previous efforts to curtail the practice (Notably the XBox One announcement fiasco), the increase in digital sale causing it to fade out naturally without intervention and the advent of $DLC. Giving games away for a reduced price when they have significant monetization built into the platform post-sale means that used games are a new form of customer acquisition.

Call of Duty reducing entry fee for its next round of $DLC buyers, where there is far more money to make with less overhead deluding profict, is a brilliant move.

Now hopefully they make a reduced cost, single-player only version as well. I find CoD multiplayer boring and repetitive but I do often enjoy plowing through the campaigns. I usually don't buy these titles, however, because they are typically too expensive for the 3-5 hours I play them.

Except that this version is horribly gimped.

Features NOT included in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Multiplayer Starter Pack:
  • Zombies game mode
  • Campaign game mode
  • Ability to play in Multiplayer custom games
  • Ability to Prestige (your level will be capped at 55 in the Starter Pack)
  • Access to mod tools or modded content (once released)
  • Access to unranked server browser (once released)
  • Ability to Fresh Start your profile
  • The ability to access Dead Ops Arcade II and Nightmares mode
Not to mention that you still have to pay $49.99 for the season pass *cough* rest of the MP game *cough*. Know that anything related to CoD is seldom ever a good deal.

I played the beta and its a decent shooter. But i've always been more interested in the single player aspect... Hey Activision can you reduce the price of that one?

Still i support this

Complaining about a multiplayer only purchase option not having single player content is beyond strange.
