Weekend Headbanger - What are you listening to?

It's the busiest time of the season for me. I've been running (and will continue to run) 6 days a week over the next few months. I get a lot of windshield time (300 + miles a day), and music really does help pass the time.

Sorry for the tardiness of this thread but hey, my weekend is just starting

It's the weekend what are you listening too?

The way that have that logo it kinda looks like "fool", which they might be for being one of the last holdouts from the streaming services.

Also, you wrote "listing" instead of listening. (Yeah, I'm that guy.)

Spotify pays anywhere from $0.006 to $0.0084 per stream to the holder of music rights. Bear in mind that the title of "holder" can be split among the record label, producers, artists, and songwriters. Just as an example, Taylor Swift earned between $280,000 and $390,000 for her song "Shake It Off" which garnered 46.3 million streams. While this isn't an insubstantial amount of money, it still required people to listen to the song nearly 50 million times to hit those amounts. Most acts will never be able to hit those sorts of numbers.

Tool is a very popular band, but it's pretty hard for bands to make money through streaming alone. Are the leaving some money on the table for not jumping on board with the likes of Spotify? Sure. Are they still selling albums, merchandise, and concert tickets? Absolutely.

Their long-awaited follow-up to 10,000 Days looks like it may actually be out this year (it has apparently been mastered over the past few days), something tells me they'll do just fine without streaming.

I'll just do what I did with their other albums. Buy it, upload it legitimately to my Google Play account and listen to it from there.
