GAH!! Games that Made Us RAGE QUIT!!

Some games are programmed by the Devil and are so tough, so evil...so rage inducing... that make us wanna break our controller!

What game made you rage quit? Is it still in the collection?

Haven't watched the video yet but Battletoads or GTFO.

Also, Kung Fu on the NES.

Current games that made me Rage quit would be the new DOOM. It was such crap design and I only finished it because the art was so fantastic.

Older games I'm not sure. I remember doing the controller throw a few times on the PS3, but I honestly can't remember what game it was.

Once controllers went wireless... it's just too damn tempting sometimes, huh?

I have a friend that got so pissed at Battlefield Bad Company 2 that he threw his controller, ejected the disc, broke it in half, and threw it across the room.

When he shot someone in the head from behind in MP, and they lived, turned around and one shot him with a shot gun his blood boiled.

I tend to hate/rage-quit games that:
  • have a time limit.
  • give you a limited number of lives, and if you lose them all you have to restart either the level or the entire game all over again.
  • games with both (I'm looking at you, Renegade Ops).
  • games where you have to practice for hours before you can get past a level.
  • games with cheating AI.
I really wish that developers would learn that frustration never equals fun.

I remember having to get the qualifying licenses in Grand Turismo... 2 I think it was and finding some of the races and times frickin impossible.

And you had to get the licenses before you could access the tracks. Nearly the entire game was gated behind this crap and there wasn't even a free play mode IIRC, that allowed you to even casually race the cars and tracks.

No good driving in the game? No game for you.

I don't remember the last time I 'rage quit'. I think maybe Bionic Commando on the NES.

GTFO on saying anything negative about the new Doom. It is great and if this is your stance your opinion is invalidated on all things.

The original Mafia had a story mission where you needed to race in them old 40s cars that had no power. One tiniest fuckup and you couldn't pass the mission. I ended up using a crack to bypass it. Next I would say Kings Quest II. I had no idea about this magic sugar cube you could eat and walk through these poisonous thrones you needed to pass to get to Dracula's castle. My solution was to walk one step and save the game; every. single. step.

I've yelled the most racist shit imaginable while playing Fifa which I find kinda funny since I'm not racist and there is always a banner going the length of the field that says "Say no to racism". It's like it plants the seed or something....

NES - Ninja Gaiden. Die on the last boss only to have to start ALL over again. Youngsters don't know the days of no automatic saves, lol.

Yes, at Sierra On-Line we published many rage inducing games... so many so that LucasArts would openly mock us in their games...and it was justified

Two fucking years... I did it, but it took two fucking years. Get to the last boss with the windmill attack.

The most frustrating gaming moments I can remember occurred during my successful playthrough of CoD2 on the hardest setting (hardcore or veteran? Can't remember what they called it at this point; long time ago). I finished it successfully, but it was so rage-inducingly cheap (Spawn, move, die...rinse, repeat) that I came as close as ever before to throwing my controller. Felt good about finishing it though!
