This "game" is garbage. Not only did it have a massive case of feature leak before it was released, what little they did release is a buggy pile of shit.

Playing on PS4 and the "game" crashed four times in a row while trying to jump to another system following the Atlus waypoints. On the fifth try I finally was able to successfully jump. When I arrived at the next system a distress signal popped up. Pulsed over to it & nothing was there except for the distress signal icon whipping about. Couldn't even activate my pulse engines or bring up the map to make a jump at that point because of some nonexistent enemy contact going on.

The next jump I was able to successfully complete was me jumping out of the "game" & shutting that bullshit off.

My favorite is "Click on an empty space to start crafting".

But you don't click. You really need to press E.

Who did the QA on this?

That depends on what you are crafting. If you are crafting modifications, it is click to build. If you are crafting consumables, then it is press "E". So without knowing what you are trying to craft, I can't say for certain if the language was incorrect.

But my friend is playing the game on PC and he was having the issue where all his controls where showing up with controller icons, even though he is using a keyboard and mouse. I had to tell him what all the PC controls were so he could keep playing the game.

I dig the artwork of the game & think the soundtrack is great but Im not seeing much else going on here. Feels like the next step in the evolution of these walking simulator style games that these hipster/indie studios like to spit out. Games like Firewatch & Gone Home, except that somehow there is even less to do in NMS.

Possibly over the next year along with what we're now being told will be $DLC well get some semblance of the game we were promised. In the meantime, they got their $60 from me for the privilege of playtesting an alpha at best.

Because Im a weak man Ill probably end up buying at least the first round of DLC to see if it adds any of the game to NMS which in return makes me part of the problem that encourages this sort of "fuck all ya all" style of business practice. And when I do Ill have no one to blame but myself.

I got it working! I kinda like it, but I'm a masochist. So I'll buy this on steam! (Id like to buy it on GOG, but that version is still not working atm; and I don't wanna install GOG galaxy)

The more I play this, the less I am enjoying it. The in-space stuff is shallow, the ship UI is shitty; I've only been to about 20 planets but I seem to have seen everything already. Having to use an item in a separate menu to recharge your shields is retarded. Some of the exploration is kind of fun, and I like collecting the languages and stuff. $60 tho? Hell no.

This game should have definitely been released at $30, $40 tops. There is major burnout with the game as it is, and the ability to use freighters and build bases will be months off from now. If you have made it to the first Atlas, then you have seen all the game has to offer.

I personally keep playing because of the fucking Alien language. For some reason I am addicted to to finding Monoliths, Relics, Plaques and other alien language dispensers so that I can pass every language check that the game throws at you.

I am so addicted that I have only warped three times. Found a planet that is literally Mars, devoid of all life and with minimal resources, an atmosphere that does not require any shields, and all locations of interest are either alien language node locations or a trading post. So I have been spending the majority of my evenings just running the planet looking to enhance my language skills.

The GOG sales were also not compatible with the Experimental releases, and I am afraid that the final patch won't be either. I hope that is not the case, because I would lose a good 30 hours of progress.

I heard that if you install GoG Galaxy I hear you can use the experimental patches.
