No Manís Sky Explore Trailer

What Can You Do in No Man’s Sky?

Hi everyone! So we’re starting the countdown to the launch of No Man’s Sky on August 9. With just a few short weeks until you can get your hands on the game, we wanted to tackle one of the questions we’ve seen crop up a few times: what do you get to do in No Man’s Sky?

As Sean Murray from Hello Games has talked about before, there are four key pillars to the game: explore, trade, fight, and survive. Some of you may have seen Sean’s video with Anthony Carboni in which he talks through the game in great detail, but for those of you that haven’t, we’ve pulled together a series of short videos that highlight each of these key pillars.

Without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to the Explore video. Keep an eye out during the coming weeks as we’ll be dropping new videos showing the highlights of what each pillar means to a player in No Man’s Sky.

With more than 18 quintillion planets to be explored across billions of miles of space, there’s plenty to be seen in No Man’s Sky. As the discoverer of flora, fauna, and even planets, you’ll be able to name your discoveries and claim them to be seen by fellow space pioneers.

Only 1 biome per planet. I'd love to see the inevitable NMS2 which does mixxed biomes. Or maybe just one pro-gen'd entire planet.

I think Mass Effect planet scanner fans are going to love this game.

Hope it can be played offline, or at least without other people's contributions... don't need plants/planets/whatever tagged "AssRider" or "Death Star" or "Legolas" or other inevitably prepubescent shit.

The final tag line should be "Our universe awaits"

The less and less it looks like there's an actual game or fun to be had. Indeed.

From what I've seen, the names other people use and the names you have given items wont sync until you play online, so staying offline to avoid suddenly landing on "Your Mom" has a certain appeal.

yes you can play it offline.

this video shows almost the entire game. There's also npc's to trade with to upgrade your ONE ship, ONE suit, or ONE weapon/tool so you can do everything you saw in the video just now.

yay....

You do realize due to the size of the game that if you actually find a planet someone else has explored it will be astonishing no matter what it is named right? The chances of you finding another planet someone has been to with 18 quintillion planets is very very very small.

I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt for now. They've not done anything to merit not getting it.

I just don't get it, why such a "big" game of exploring but I they made it to where i can't do that with a friend. Lame. Make it offline and $20 for no multiplayer, campaign, story, or split screen.
