Since I first heard about this movie, with Nolan producing I've been excited. Then he picked Zack Snyder to direct, I was more excited. It was supposed to originally come out in December but then WB changed it to June to avoid the Hobbit. I've been eagerly awaiting both this and Prometheus, since they were both announced around the same time.

I'm a life-long Superman fan, even when he often is lame or boring. Parents saw Superman 2 when I was in the womb (so I heard it maybe?), then when I was a kid in '92 and the Death of Superman arc happened, I was very into comics. I've always felt that Superman could be the most badass superhero if they wouldn't make him such a boy scout. Occasionally in comics he'll get pissed off and wreck shop, and it's awesome. They promise this movie will portray him differently, specifically not as a boy scout.

If Nolan and Snyder can't make an awesome Supes movie, no one can. I'm hoping for the best, and I dig this trailers' atmosphere.

Why does hollywood think we need comic books remade again and again? Gah, I wish we were back in the 80's with today's technology, that was a sweet decade for original movies.
I believe a little quick to judge there. I am by no means a fan of Superman, but I was actually thinking "too many crappy Superman movies but this may be the one".

Can hollyweird stop with the reboots? And they wonder why the movie industry is so lame. No originality.

See what you're saying, it still looks impractical though. Or maybe unnatural would be a better word, if you get what I mean.

Rose-colored glasses? The '80s probably had even more sequels and remakes than we do now.

However, I would have loved to have seen a mega-budget Stallone or Schwarezenegger action epic made with today's technology.

Why do we need to see origin stories upteen times? We know the damn backstory! Seriously, even the girlfriends being dragged along with their guys in exchange for a chick flick the next week know the Superman mythos backwards and forwards.

Isn't that the music from Lord of the Rings?

Which is exactly where I felt the excitement drain from my body. Zack Snyder is a terrible director. Maybe Superman will have great art direction and give Zack the luxury of speeding up and slowing down the action scenes so they can carefully avoid him having to actually try and direct. The more they can minimize his involvement the better the movie will be.

Huh. I've enjoyed all of his films so far:
Dawn of the Dead
300
Watchmen
Sucker Punch

For me anyway, this is a good thing.

I'm looking forward to it. I like Zack Snyder and think he is a wonderful action director. I would like to see them make superman do something truly incredible besides fly and lift heavy things. He's supposed to be the ultimate badass. Let's see him go nuts. What I loved so much about The Avengers was them going ape shit for the last 45 minutes of the film.

Thanks! There was one bit before the dog that was poorly edited, but I said fuck it. lol.

And to answer another person's question, the music was from Lord of the Rings in the original trailer.

Oh god I HOPE so. They've ALL sucked. Though I liked one or two of the 80s ones as a kid, maybe #2 and #3.

That was a horrifically shot and edited trailer. It looks like someone used their phone camera and put together something in 5 minutes!

With Snyder AND Nolan both attached to this by name I refuse to believe it will be TERRIBLE. At the very least the direction they seem to be going in seems to be promising.
