Agreed.

After all, it's not like they can expect to sell a fuckton of copies on PC, especially for a re-release of a game that came out ages ago on console.

Anyway, if poor resolution/frame rate issues are more important to you than challenging, original gameplay and a really well developed semi-open world, more power to you.

I respect your right to miss out on one of the best games of this generation!

Capping the resolution is just odd, I can't really imagine any technical reason for this.

Now the FPS issue. I've seen a lot of people in different comments sections around the web talking about this, and it always boils down to this: caring about FPS is graphic whoring. I completely disagree. A low FPS directly affects the gameplay.

A high FPS gives a smooth experience, while a low one makes the game either sluggish or a slideshow. It's not just graphics, it's the entire feel and experience of playing the game.
So that's the "feel" of the game, but how else does it affect gameplay? Try playing a racing game with low FPS. I bet you'll crash into stuff constantly because the stuttering gameplay makes it impossible to react. In a game like Dark Souls where a missed dodge can mean hours of progress lost then FPS can be a real dealbreaker.

Furthermore I'm pretty sure low FPS can lead to eye-strain and headaches for some people. I experienced this myself when I tried to play the terrible port of Splinter Cell: Conviction.

This is actually a really good comparison. CD Project didn't have any experience with developing for 360 either (except for maybe the canned version of Witcher 1), but they still pulled through and delivered the best game they could. The game even looked prettier than the PC version in some cases because of the changes they did to the lighting.

Lolz @ Agpope! Wonderful troll, my man. But resolution isn't about graphics, it's about functionality. I literally have issues looking at resolutions that low. A higher, more crisp resolution actually helps me to see what's going on better.

I planned on picking this up on the PS3 after I heard they werent optimizing the PC iteration at all. Not a big deal, my TV is bigger than the old computer monitor anyhow. Plus there is a couch.
