Here is the new and improved completely modded and custom Game Boy Advance handheld version 2.0 including:

* AGS-101 backlit display
* Voltage Regulator (Brighter display)
* Digital Brightness Control
* Hi-Fi Class-D amplifier w/ 24dB gain, Better noise filtering & Less distortion
* New High-End speaker w/ Better frequency response & Higher sensitivity
* Clockspeed options 1x, 2x, 4x, 0.5x
* Rechargeable Battery Pack

As mentioned in the video: fully loaded this thing is expensive...but you don't have to get all the bells and whistles and you could buy the parts separately and just build your own. Lots of options for people.

I wish I had the cash for the Cadillac version of this thing. I still have some GBA games sitting around that I never got around to playing.

Sweet! My purple GBA still works well, can't see a damn thing on that crappy screen though.

Yeah, at the very least getting a 101 screen is a MUST for that original model. The rechargeable battery is a nicety as well... and those two things don't really break the bank.

Sounds like a plan. I still have a few JRPGs I got off eBay, back when they were cheap, to play.

Man, that price is going to run people off on principle alone. I would actually like to do the screen on one of my GBA's though. That and an everdrive and what else would you need? Damit MJR, now i have to look into this.

I think modern handhelds have lost their portability starting with the DS. There is something to be said for a very small system that easily fits in your pocket, with games built completely around that screen size. Its cool stuff that may never return.

You would think, but I got comments like that on my $400 UltraHDMI mod video for the N64...and literally they are sold out for months. If a particular system has real nostalgia and you want the best experience, some people would rather pay that verses a new PS4 Pro...

...also, did I mention the economy is doing really well?

I never knew that I needed this. Cheers for the video Metal Jesus.

It's time for me to save some pennies and track down a mint condition GBA.

You really have a point. Your post kinda filled in what id already been thinking. The way i see it is, the market is flooded, graphics are stalled, microtransactions are ruining games, you have to eat and sleep a game to be competitive in the online space.

The market is just toxic. What do you do to enjoy games again? Spend that cash you would normally spend on a decked out retro console and just avoid it all together.
