Madden Leadership Changes Yet Again

Game Informer has the story.

Quote:
Madden senior producer Carlos Guerrero is no longer with Electronic Arts after violating undisclosed company policies.

Here's the statement from EA:

“Due to behavior that is against EA policies, including our Global Code of Conduct & Respectful Workplace policy, Carlos Guerrero is no longer with EA. We don’t have any further comments.”

Guerrero was at Blizzard for many years, and was involved in some of its most successful titles like Overwatch and World of Warcraft. This experience was seen as key to helping fulfill Madden's current goal to make the series more of a live service model.

Roy Harvey is serving as executive producer until the spot is filled, and while Guerrero's departure will not change anything for Madden NFL 19, it could impact the series as development for Madden 20 starts.

He probably said the NFL shouldn't allow women to compete. It definitely should, to equalize rates of brain trauma.

Why shouldn't they? Both men and woman are 100% equal, right? Right down the last cell.

There aren't any differences between us. Certainly not any that would be CLEARLY visible, no?

I mean, if we had MAJOR differences between us we'd all be able to recognize them and understand what roles nature GOD intended for us, right?

by the wording of that, it totally seems like a "diversity and equality" firing, meaning he probably looked at a woman for more than 5 seconds.

Or could have made a joke about pressing "X to Kneel" before each game and it did not go down well with the establishment.

Yeah, I was gonna say that everyone is assuming a sexist reason when it could easily be the political kneeling one. Or maybe hiding his dick pic in the code.

no one is booing women, but we currently live in a culture where all men are evil and women needs to be protected because they have no agency of their own.

Blizzard had its own set of issues, but people work there a *very* long time and are only let go when they do something incredibly stupid, like saying "fuck that guy" in a semi-private setting or taking a bike on Blizzard's campus.

Blizzard made an effort to foster passion. EA wants to squeeze it out of you until there's nothing left, discard you, then find the next host.

If that were the case, then why did everyone immediately jump to the conclusion that he did nothing wrong, and was a victim of some kind of male secondary citizen agenda?

It's equally likely he grabbed an ass or pulled a Louis CK in a cubicle.

They didn't announce any details.

I also think the notion of "we live in a culture where all men are evil and women need to be protected" is overblown.

I am a male. I treat all women and men with the same dignity and professionalism in the workplace. Never had an issue. Never felt persecuted. Never felt persecuted as a male outside of work.

If you get grabby or verbally inappropriate at work you're going to get canned. As you should. Instead of sobbing like a baby about it, and telling the world how unfair it is that the SJWs took over the world, we should learn to live with just a smidge of a little self control. You know - enough where you can make it through an entire shift without hitting on someone while your wife is at home.

Who knows what happened. This thread didn't give any indication.

That was a lot? You must be especially smitten with our soundbite culture if that is a "helluva lot" of writing.

The fact of the matter is that EA said absolutely nothing about the situation. Unless we've got someone with inside information, all we know is this: “Due to behavior that is against EA policies, including our Global Code of Conduct & Respectful Workplace policy, Carlos Guerrero is no longer with EA. We don’t have any further comments.”

At this point, anything else is just speculation.
