The the Kingsman movie people were bitching about how the trailer gave away the surprise that one guy wasn't dead, yet there he is right on the poster, too. That's not just as much a spoiler?

And yet not as big a shock to me as Channing Tatum being in all the promotional material, yet being on screen for all of 3 minutes. Pedro Pascal should have had his spot.

The director of Kingsman: The Golden Circle has called out his film's marketing team for giving away too many plot twists in trailers and other promotional materials.
So he was just upset about the posters (they would be considered "other promotional material").

Watched Kingsman and it was reasonably good but not great. Like the first it played on a popular social message and put a twist on it about how people on both sides of the argument can become enormous zealots and regular people get caught in the middle.

It wasn't as cool as the first cause they tech was much less outlandish and cool. They didn't have as much of a "Q" moment. Very few of the stunts were really amazing though the gondola sequence was pretty cool.

The acting was meh, especially from Halle Berry but Julianne Moore did OK job (merely decent). In fact the best performance in the movie probably came from (spoiler) Elton John.

I can't think of any scene which required a big screen but it might be worth a blu-ray.

Overall I give it a C+. At least it was one of the most complete movies of this Summer. It had a few great moments a few duds but mostly it was just OK. I don't feel like I wasted too much of my money.

If you all enjoy attending the theater often you should look into MoviePass. I signed up this past weekend and will be trying it out when the 'card' arrives in a week or so. $9.99/month, you get one 'free' ticket to a theatrical film release each day for as many days as you want to go. Works at 91%-ish of theaters, including the four that I use all year long (local, on the road, etc.).

Looking forward to seeing if it actually works as advertised. We shall see.

Yeah, I was considering getting MoviePass, I think you just put me over the edge. My buddy and I go so often it seems like a no-brainer.

The Golden Circle wasn't near as good as the first. Statesman seemed more like a backdrop than something interesting for them to interact/ team with, and I really hate what they did with Kingsman. They really dug themselves into a hole to try and make a third one a compelling expansion with what happened.

It is not a matter of being "bad but good", but rather, going in with the proper expectations. If you go in knowing what the film is, I hear it is a very good film. So you may want to read some reviews, even spoiler ones, to set your brain to the proper expectations.

Yes. For example, what should a large crowd of homicidal maniacs do with a newborn baby?

Quality cinema there.
