Holy crap that looks amazing! How was the last movie such a complete shit-show and this one just pulls at all the heart strings and brings back all the great memories with one short trailer that barely shows more than the first 10 minutes of the movie???

Looks fun and definitely has the right vibe. I was expecting to get a little more of a reveal of at least one of the old cast members. But the Spengler reference was pretty cool.

They made the absolute right choice, made the IP relevant to the current landscape. Very strong vibe of things like Stranger Things etc, rather just trying to reproduce the original film.

I think the original cast will have pretty small parts, if you watch Feig's disaster of a movie, it really wasn't helped by the cameos at all. Bill Murray was outright terrible doing his "Paul Feig" impression and none of the other cast held up well either.

I'm sure they will be there, but I suspect the parts will be very small.

That was... unexpected. Not sure what to make of it all, due to the (as said above) Stranger Things feel, but I'm okay with it. Might even go to the cinema if it ramps up to be an absolute spectacle of effects.

...was that a 'Terror Dog' standing on the hood of Ecto 1?

Ah okay that makes sense. I thought they were slated to have a bigger part but I really haven't paid a ton of attention. Anyway, as long as it doesn't have this horrible crap...

I almost hate myself for posting it.

I think Stranger Things feel is a good thing considering it does a decent job of tapping into what made these movies feel so good back in the 80s. The atmosphere they created. This looks promising.

Other than Hudson & Aykroyd I don't think any of them would be really helped by being in the movie all that much and after the last one flopped, I could totally see Bill Murray, Weaver, Potts and Moranis as just skipping this one.

Moranis retired from acting decades ago. Getting him to return even for a cameo would be a feat.

The tone for this new Ghostbusters is on the right track. 2 went more goofy and hasn’t aged well and the reboot abomination went way too far in that same direction.

He said something a year or so back about possibly coming back to acting now that his kids were grown. I doubt it will happen, but you never know and this would certainly be the right place for him to step back into acting.

I think Potts would have to show up as the Egon's grandkid's grandmother. At least appearing in a Spengler family photo. She's aged wonderfully.

Moranis showing up would be incredible, but Lewis Tully showing up doesn't make any kind of sense for the setting. The only reason I could see is if Tully became the executor of Spenglers' estate and provides some exposition now that he's older, wiser, and seen some shit.

There has got to be some small nods to the fate of the original cast spread throughout the film, either as an easter egg or small part. After That Which Will Not Be Named Nor Should Have Existed, it would only seem proper. Hard to believe something so correct in tone and what the grown-up fans would want can come after that train wreck.

Murray would do this. Look what he did for Zombieland 2. Hell, maybe Bill Murray is on this forum. You never know. Come on Bill.

Wow, fantastic! And with Paul Rudd? Instant win!

Went from a "cool, will probably see" to a "can't wait!"

So is the appeal that it somehow seems to tie in to Stranger Things? Because as someone who has never seen ST this Mighty Morphin Stranger Ghosterbuster Rangers trailer didn't really do anything for me. /shrug

Looks interesting. The appeal is there to bring in a newer audience; as well as bringing back the old school fans clamoring for proper nostalgia.

I'm not sure where you got the "Mighty Morphin Rangers" thing from that trailer. Definitely felt the Stranger Things vibe which I'm 100% on board with, but not sure about your other words there.

I'll be at a theater for this one. Looks like it deserves it.

Since no one really said it.. why would you hide under that rickety shite table instead of just run outside.

Movie looks promising though.
