How to CONNECT Your GAME CONSOLES to HDTVs

I have 40 years worth of game consoles connected to two televisions in my Game Room, one is a new HDTV & the other an older tube CRT TV. Here is how I connect them in detail.

Everybody's Game Room is different. Is there a better way? How do you do it?

thank you so much for doing this. I get this question all the time. It seems to be a common issue these days.

I feel like the absolute best way to play retro games is as intended on a CRT and either modding or just cable upgrading your consoles to do RGB out. A lot of them surprisingly do RGB. I know you have some of your consoles hooked up to a CRT, but I'd recommend getting a Sony PVM or similar monitor and using that for your retro systems. Playing Super NES or Genesis via RGB out on one of these is incredible.

Older pic of my setup, but I currently have my Neo Geo, SNES and CDX all hooked up to it via RGB.

I have an Amiga 1084 monitor (sadly not the S model ) that I used for my retro consoles, and jerry rigged a s-vid cable for my Saturn (also rigged with a switch to play JPN games), but now all of it is boxed and collects dust in the basement....along with a 200lb 30" anamorphic Sony trinitron

Great video MJ. Excellent production. You can see a lot of work went into it.

I've been really tempted to get a composite or s-video to hdmi converter. Mostly for SNES and Gamecube. However, the main reason I want a gamecube out is for GBA games, which the Retron 5 does. I play gamecube games through my Wii because I have it hooked out through component anyway.

Should I just go for the Retron 5 or should I bother with a converter box? The price difference isn't that extreme. I'm able to somehow get all my playstation consoles to still work with my current TV through black magic. (First Generation Playstation 3 baby!)
