I assume you mean GT7, but... did GT5 really look worse than Prologue? I honestly can't remember, it's been so long. What really put me off in GT5 and especially GT6 are some of the older car models, that obviously have not been improved at all since GT4. THAT obviously was a disappointment after Prologue only contained "Premium" cars.

Speaking of which: I honestly don't understand how Polyphony is working. I mean, this has to be a huge company, right? Yet, over the last 10 years, they've only released two full games. These games share a lot of content with their predecessors, and - some super-cool car models aside - they don't even look all that hot. Why???

Yeah, meant Gran Turismo 7. I always forget about that stop-gap PS3 release of 6. I just consider it the patched version of 5, rather than a full release.

No, not at all, not even a little. Prologue only had the premium cards whilst 5 had some of the legacy ones- and if you compare a premium car from Prologue to a legacy from 5 I guess you could try and very poorly make that argument. Nothing that was in Prologue looked worse in 5.

The grass, trees, spectators, and many textures/shadow maps were better in Prologue when compared to Gran Turismo 5. There was a definite downgrade in the actual product, not unsimilar to what happened with Froza 5 and its E3 and retail release (or really, any E3 demo when compared to the final release).
