METAL JESUS ROCKS!: Dude, Where's My Cart? - Bonus Features Edition

Who's up for deleted scenes? Maybe a comical outtake or two? How about a surprise alternate ending? Bonus features abound in this week's episode of METAL JESUS ROCKS!, which offers a thrilling conclusion to the docu-drama triology of Metal Jesus and Drunken Master Paul's pilgrimmage to John Hancock's legendary Longview Game Room of Doom.

Like the mythical shimmering stag appearing at the edge of the woods, we even get a glimpse of that rarest of gaming artifacts: a functional white-box Bally Astrocade. Don't forget to make a wish! (Sorry--John isn't going to sell you his.)

For those that missed either one or both of the first two videos in this three part series, you can find them here and a-hyeeah.

Those DvDs would make great Holiday gifts for younger gamers in the family . Teach them their roots!!!

Also... LOL Drunken Paul at the end of you two wailing out the theme song to MJ in your car...

That is a pretty weird and interesting console! Not sure if I'd want to add it to my collection, as it's more of a curiosity for me personally... But still, it's cool how rare it is!

It was apparently a great system hobbled by Atari beating all the other competing console makers of the era to exclusive licensing agreements for most of the official versions of arcade favorites like Pacman, Galaxian, etc..

The Astrocade did have some really cool and innovative features that were truly ahead of its time. It had a multi-purpose controller that included a pistol grip with a small joystick sitting atop (forebear to the ubiquitous thumbsticks we all use today). And the top of that little joystick was also twistable to support games like Breakout or the pong-style clones. It was also one of (if not the) first consoles to have 4 controller ports.

I agree. That controller is wild, and really shows how forward thinking the console was!
