and La Llorona had a production budget in the range of 10 Million

(marketing budget was a multiple of that, go figure).

expect hollywood to continue releasing cheap films in the same conjuring "universe"

I have liked nearly all the movies in the conjuring lore. If they keep them coming I'll keep watching.

Too bad about Hellboy, but I'm glad to see Shazam make it past 100m.

Considering there will be a lot of people unable to find seats next week for the big superhero movie maybe Hellboy and Shazam will see a little bit of a boost as disappointed people settle for the 1st and 2nd runner ups. Reports say tickets for Endgame are few and far between at theaters which allow pre-orders.

Captain Marvel hit $400 million domestic? It will finish top 5 for Marvel. That's amazing.

Read somewhere it was a record low easter weekend at the box office.
Some of that has got to be a big chunk of the movie goers waiting for endgame.

It hasn't been a big year for the box office. Disney is doing great, but not much else. I don't expect that to change. After Avengers it's really downhill all summer.

My Dad and I usually head out to the movies every weekend over the summer and looking ahead, I don't see much that we will be going to see until Spider-Man at the end of summer.

Fox is being bought out. Warner Bros are half rebooting the DCU. Universal is still recovering from their failure at a shared CMU. What is being put out isnt great I agree with you but I still think even if better movies came out this month they would most likely under preform.

It's probably just me, but I'm more excited for King of the Monsters than Endgame. Seeing King Ghidorah on the big screen with modern effects will be absolutely epic.

Went to see Shazam! over the weekend, it was pretty entertaining. My only gripe is that Shazam! didn't act like Billy Batson at all. It seemed like each actor had their own idea for their character and went with it and made no attempt to make them mesh, even though it was supposed to be the same character.
