Cliff Bleszinski Considering Bringing LawBreakers To The Nintendo Switch

Shacknews has the story.

Quote:
Back in July, LawBreakers' lead designer Dan Nanni gave Switch owners the answer to this question, and it wasn't one they expected. In an interview with Gamingbolt, Nanni said that the primary hurdle with bringing LawBreakers to the Switch was the console's apparent lack of buttons. Naturally, that response doesn't stand up even to weakest of scrutiny. Fortunately, Boss Keys' resident legend Cliff Bleszinski has weighed in on the possibility of bringing the game to Nintendo's hybrid console, and while it seems like a Switch release isn't the studio's highest priority, the developer is at least considering the idea.

Speaking in an interview with Gamespot, Bleszinski expressed admiration for the Nintendo Switch, but stated that an Xbox One port of LawBreakers is likely higher on the studio's to-do list than bringing LawBreakers to Nintendo's hardware.

"We would probably consider the Xbox first, and then we're very much in wait and see mode right now," Bleszinski said. "It is a fine console, the Switch [...] the entire concept of it is just brilliant. Nintendo just really knocked it out of the park with this one."

Giving the notion that LawBreakers could come to the Switch minding its alleged button deficiency, obviously it's possible that the game wouldn't be a straightforward port, but could rather be something specially-tailored to Nintendo's hardware with unique functionality or even special gameplay modes.

He needs to consider lurking down to the dungeon where they keep Romero and accept that his glory days are over. He should have stayed with Epic Games.

Some people, when they find themselves in a hole, think the best response is to just keep digging.

Instead, they should invest those development funds into redoing the art style. The game couldn't look more generic if it tried.

I think the chances of this going to switch are about 0%. I doubt there is enough money left in this company or that it will be around long enough for anyone to do a port. In theory, the publisher could hire some hacks (like Gearbox) to port it over to the Switch in some kind of an attempt to turn this freak show into something that isn’t a 100% loss, but I don’t see Nexon making a lot of console games or even ports.

I don’t think you will see this on the Xbone or the Switch and given the burn rate of most decent sized development houses, I doubt that Boss Key will still be around a year from now. I give them 3 months.

I think the simple answer to this is... it's a waste of time.

No one really cares if it comes to the Switch. I'd rather play short Splatoon2 matches. Hell, no one really cares that it's on the PC either (which is where the dominant FPS market exists... maybe with the exception of Call of Duty, Baskin Robins edition).

I don't know what to say about Cliffy... guy seems like he's peaked but wants to stay in the industry. Can't fault a guy for wanted to stick with something he loves. Most people think he's a dick - I've never met the guy so I can't say... but I can say that his past lends one towards that line of thinking. Doesn't mean folks can't change, but the internet has a long memory... especially to those it births.

I think that's pretty awesome and punk rock of him honestly.

I think there is a growing contingent of developers and fans who are getting closer and closer to telling the games media to "f off" in some more official capacity.

They serve no real purpose and they actually hurt good games in meaningful ways.

In case you did not know; that charcater in the screenshot is styled after Zoe Quinn of GamerGate fame. Cliffy B was in the anti-GamerGate camp in a big way.

I can be very cocky and very brash on social media. And realising that, you know, we have a fledgling player base. It's been very humbling for me. I'm going to continue to iterate on this game, continue to add to it. And try to be less of a dick, honestly.

I bet you do.
Considering the current state of his ego, you giving him a good cock sucking might do him wonders.

Maybe a phone game is where this needs to be. Personally, I would be considering arson at this point If i were him.

I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying that has to be one of the worst tributes of all time.

It reminds me of the Norm McDonald Unibomber sketch artist bit on SNL where he keeps putting a hat and giant aviators on every rendering.

I would think they would not want to be too obvious about it, with the girl having been a target of ire when the whole GamerGate thing first blew up. No reason to poke that hornet's nest.

I don't think this is a case of "not bring obvious"; there isn't enough of a resemblance for this to really even be a thing. I think Bleszinski and Boss Key have enough going against them without piling on tenuous stuff like this.

I mean, outside of the hair style (which is also pretty common)...I'm not seeing a resemblance.
