Weekend Headbanger - What are you listening to?

1985 Jackson King V Custom “Kill Bon Jovi”
This guitar was used by James for the recording of the album Master of Puppets in 1985, and occasionally during the subsequential tour [Metallica Damage, Inc. Tour 1986/87]

The guitar actually predates Dave Mustaine’s first Jackson – who is one of the people responsible for promoting Jackson guitars in the early years and making them relatively popular. James’ King V was finished sometime in mid 1985, and featured white body finish, Tune-o-matic bridge, Grover Tuners, and two Seymour Duncan Invader pickups (presumably requested by James himself). In 1987 James removed the original pickups, and had them replaced with EMGs 81/60. Few months after that, the neck on it snapped and James just didn’t bother repairing it.

After meeting with him the first time, Jackson company wanted James to endorse their guitars, to which James said no since he felt more comfortable using Explorers. Eventually he made his decision obvious by adding a sticker saying “Kill Bon Jovi” over the guitar’s original logo on the headstock.

I've been listening to the new H.E.A.T. from Sweden. Basically it's a modern version of "hair metal" and reminds me of my junior high years. Great stuff if that's what you are into

4/4 time signature, kinda cheesy lyrics. I like it!

Normie picks from me this week

I like this song. A rare instance where a woman who is also left wing self reflects. Enjoy!

oof

Pretty decent song, but the video is just slick as fuck.

Loved that knowledge! Rik Emmet, Triumph, Led Zepplin, The Who... and then some Bach and other classical music.

It's a clear vinyl too! You're right that soundtrack has an awesome selection of covers. Some very good original tunes were played on that show too.
