Metal Gear Survive Single-Player Gameplay Walkthrough

Quote:
KONAMI Reveals Single Player and Beta Details for Metal Gear Survive

This afternoon Konami revealed a first look at the single-player campaign for Metal Gear Survive through a new gameplay video with producer commentary. The video introduces basic survival and gameplay mechanics while showing key action sequences.

Additionally, Metal Gear Survive will be holding a beta from January 18th-21st, 2018. Players will have a chance to jump into co-op mode to build, defend and fight alongside friends online. The Beta will be available to download for PS4 and Xbox One players. Participants will also receive an in-game bonus redeemable with the purchase of the full game. Bonus items include a Fox Hound name plate, an accessory Metal Gear REX Head and Accessory bandana.

The release of Metal Gear Survive will follow for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam on February 20th, 2018.

Metal Gear Survive picks up from the final stages of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Players are pulled through a wormhole and find themselves in a dangerous world filled with biological threats and hostile environments where they must survive and find their way home. Not only will they fight off deadly creatures, but also explore and forage the environment for food, water and other resources to stay alive.

Metal Gear has had a pretty over-the-top story for a long time...but, it was at least consistent. I don't think anyone wants this crystal zombie crap.

Bring on Death Stranding.

So they took MGSV, one of the best unfinished games ever, and turned it into a PUBG/Fortnite?

If this is the future of Metal Gear, I want no part.

MGSV was unfinished?

Yes.

They could've added on so many different map locations with DLC.

So they didn't want to make a Metal Gear game, okay. Why put "Metal Gear" on it?

Pass.

It's because games with "Metal Gear" on them sell extremely well.

Scrap this game, and make it in to battle royal game.

really, metal gear has the perfect movement system for stealth and battle royal.

If they had only scrapped the metal gear title, it actually looks like a fun coop experience.

But it's difficult to honor them and pay for the game when they've done so much wrong by their ex-devs and fans.

That's just it though. This looks JUST like MGSV. Exactly. It looks like they might've added a few models and menus and that's it. They already had everything worked out, so I can't fault them on that.

Im actually excited for it because I consider MGSV to be one of the best games ever made, period.

Why would they not use the MGSV engine? That shit was expensive as fuck to develop. Even now assassins creed uses an updated form of the same engine developed for their original game to this day as well as GTA.

It's a stupid decision. Metal Gear fans probably won't like what they see, and people who are not Metal Gear fans will see the name and not give it a second thought before moving onto the next game on the shelf/web page.

And it doesn't at least have the name of a good developer under it. Like Revengeance had Platinum Games developing it.

But even then, the game was really a shell of a Metal Gear game, and people really did not like the name being attached to it. It still sold pretty well, however, which is why Konami is not that worried about an offshoot using the MGS name damaging the brand or lowering sales.

Well, since they had a lot done already I would've liked to see newer animations on general character movement, maybe slightly better models, something.

It doesn't look like a lot went into it.

It should probably be a mod to MGSV.

Because people like the cinematics and the stealth gameplay and the nostalgia that goes with Snake and Colonel and that iconic "oh shit he saw me" sound effect.

Not because of "unspeciified soldier #7 shoots crystal zombies".
