With all the CG wizardry that Blizzard is capable of, and all the money they have to make money hats... why the fuck are they still being cheap ass bitches and making 2D animated shorts?

I don't see the problem with 2D animation. Not everything has to be CG!

What's wrong with an animated short? This looks great!

I have nothing against standard 2D animation, but Blizzard fans have been requesting for years that Blizzard put their 3D talents into making an OVA or full length production of their works. They have some very talented in-house artists, so it is a little "painful" to see them farming out 2D animations.

To be honest, I find Blizzard cinematics to be deeply beautiful from a framing and detail perspective, but there's there's always something off about them. The eyes and expressions of people are always uncanny and they are always limited on action and camera movement when compared with something from Blur for example.

It makes we suspect that Blizzard has a very insular cinematics team who have progressed through the years by simply giving us more detail but in many ways less and less dynamism and flair over the years. Diablo 3's cinematics have all been underwhelming to me so far and so were Starcraft 2's. I'm not sure I would want a full animated film from them anymore. I also suspect that the team is only just enough resources to make those short snippets for games - just look at how many times full on facial dialogue is avoided in their cinematics.

The only good pieces from Peter Chung were the original Aeon Flux shorts where she died every episode and the Riddick animated movie. Main Aeon Flux series and Animatrix episode from him s-s-s-sucked. What has he done relevant aside from Aeon Flux?

Aside from Riddick, Aeon Flux and The Matrix short, Peter Chung has been in charge of story, direction or design for the Tomb Raider animated series, Firebreather, Reign: the Conqueror, Phantom 2040, Rugrats, C.O.P.S. and finally, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Yes, that's right. He was in charge of the art direction for the original series and was responsible for the fairly well-known opening sequence that two or three kids may have seen.
