Omerta: City of Gangsters is a 1920s prohibition era empire building game, with a tactical combat system to make things extra interesting. It's being developed by Haemimont Games, the creators of Tropico 3 and 4, and is expected to release sometime in late January / early February 2013.
In this video I take a look at the start of the story / campaign, completely the entire first level which primarily serves as a tutorial. If you'd like me to progress any further be sure to let me know in the comments! I will most likely make a follow-up on multiplayer as well, for those of you interested in all out online mobster warfare.
This game intrigues me, but a 37+ minute video is not a 'quick look'.
That's actually pretty standard. A "Quick Look" is probably a bad name for the piece that they do, but the idea is that game journalists just play the game and comment on it's features for 30-60 minutes. It gives a really thorough examination of games that I enjoy, and is my favorite feature on GiantBomb.
After what Kalypso pulled with Legends of Pegasus I'll wait until release with several reviews under it's belt. Legends of Pegasus is still for sale on Steam.
Actually, I was wrong, Steam isn't selling it anymore it's just listed in their library without the option to buy. That makes me feel a bit better about Steam's hand in this. Still frustrated that it took a couple of weeks and several back and forths with support before they finally refunded me (Steam wallet only though).
